^^ Thanks. I tried a more realistic style of coloring but I think it would be interesting to see it colored in a different way.

Done! Took me two days :'D

Went for a different style approach to colouring, instead of using just paint I did some experimental shading with the airbrush tool x_X

@Reikara ^^ interesting color choice, It's neat. And cell shading is what they normally use for anime and such. There's really no blending >_> it looks good when it's done right, but I myself for some reason can't do it xD it irks me.

I use Photoshop CS2 and a Wacom Bamboo tablet >_> been experimenting and goofing off with it lately though xD can't say I've really perfected my coloring style yet -_- if you were to look at my DA page >.< half of my stuff looks like it could have been done by 3 or 4 different people my style is constantly changing xD Only thing that didn't change much are the eyes.

Nah, I gave it a look and there same style is in nearly all pictures What makes it look different is more the sudden change of motives, not the style. Got to say I like you coloring style, although its not perfect yet.

Im normally not into human art anymore, more fascinated of equines lately :P

yeah, I used... 22 layers^^;

yes, I think it was the fill tool, I forgot the "mask" (is it called like this? Oo) when I used it. maybe the tolerance (?) was too low too.. hmmm >.>

I rarely use the fill tool xD Usually I put the lineart as the top layer, put it on multiply so that everything under it shows and then do all the color. As for the really technical stuff I rarely use it b:surrender I taught myself photoshop so when it comes to messing with a lot of the REALLY in depth things I just kinda... skirt around it xD But that's just me.

eh yeah, I learned it by myself too... and play around with effects etc a lot

I don't really understand how you do that.. I had the lines as bottom layer^^ then made layers for skin, hair etc. getting more and more into the details.

maybe someone who has a lot of experience could post quick a guide on how to color using layers properly? >.> that would be interesting (at least for me^^)

Well, just a really quick and simple way to do it...

well that's at least the way I do it, is that I

1) make a copy of the line art layer because it's usually locked

2) make another layer under it and fill it with white or whatever color you wish to use as a base for your background

3) set the line art layer mode to "multiply" and then I make all of my layers under the line art and on top of the white (or whatever other color) background layer.

That's pretty well it. Then I trial and error my way through the colors b:surrender because I'm so not an expert xD But you really can't use the fill tool to fill in the lines after that xD you actually have to color it. It takes more time but it looks better.

The technique that I use for getting clean lines fron lineart is pretty simple, I got it from a tutorial, but I can't remember where b:chuckle

Basically, take your drawing in a photoshop document so that the lineart is on the top layer.
Go to the paths window and hit select all (the fuzzy circle) and hit delete (yes scary, but don't worry lol).
Go back the the layers window and deselect the lines.
Hit "lock trasparent pixels" on the option bar above the layer (the grey and white checkered square)
Then take a huge brush and the colour you want your lines to be, and paint all over the lines.
You'll see they turn a nice solid colour, if not, duplicate the layer and then combine them with Alt-E.

You now have some nice lines all alone in their layer, and you can easily add colour behind them. I'm no pro, but this is how I prepare my lines. You can use this straight up for cartoon style, or fiddle with the layer options to make a softer style.

Wizards don't get enough love in fan art. I wanted to convey an angry/intimidating wizard but i'm not sure just how well I pulled that off lol.
I'd really love to see this one coloured though ^_^
Her staff dosen't exist in game, but she's wearing the level 40 arcane set. You can find a refference for it in "armour" on www.ecatomb.net but honestly, you don't have to stick to it. Colour however you want.

I'm still working on two more female peices, a blademaster and archer in level 80 gear. I have them in pencil, just not in ink yet ^^;

I'm going to do more genie chibis too, i'll just screenie some people afk with them o.0
