Dual Blade BM...Damage Dealing God? Or Not?

Okay, so my first BM build was a Dual Blader BM...however since it was my first build/character i dont think i witnessed any ture potential of what it could do since i never followed a set build of any time...

So what i really want help with is..Is a Dual Blader a good DD class for PvP ( i know its a 1v1 type of class )....And is it a good path for fast lvling when it comes to doing quests, and grinding if built right?

On top of that question i'd like any opinions on a Damage Dealing build for a Dual Blade BM because my gameplay style is that i want to be able to dish out as much possible damage i can(<--makes me think of dual Axes) AND i want to be able to dish this huge amount of damage out as quickly as possible (<--- Pushes me back to Dual Blades)..So any and all DD builds for Dual Blades is appreciated and much welcomed, as well as any other thoughts for shard use and what weapons are really in the Dual Bladers interest.

    dual axes are better.

in pvp it's skills that matter, unless u are single blade or fist, and skills for axes are about the same as skills for swords, but axes has more dmg. Swords do have more accuracy, but an axe user can match it.

Dual blades is not a great pve weaopn past 60, as axes will out lvl you by a lot.

Hahah, thanks. and yeah, I regret starting on PvE, I didn't realise there were PvP servers till it was too late. I just joined Sanctuary due to my girlfriend wanting to start with the "nicest named server". =P

Pure noob dual blade BM coming through!

I would not totally dismiss dual blades in favor of dual axes, despite the popular consensus here.

On paper, dual axes deal about as much damage over time as dual blades without using skills. The weapon paths are pretty much even as far as attack power vs. attack speed. The difference comes with the skill paths.

Dual axes shine with extra stun and AoE skills, which allow BMs to both AoE grind in PvE, and stun lock in PvP.

However, that's not the only ticket to success. I can level up just as fast as the AoEers, and still kick some **** in PvP without that extra stun.

As far as blade skills go, the only thing I haven't used is Mage Bane. The rest are really good tactical and situational skills.

I like being a dual blade BM because of the high dex requirement. Having high dex for a BM means high accuracy, evasion, and critical hit percent. While it relies on luck, I can hit you consistently while you're busy missing, and if I get lucky with critical hits I would certainly out damage a dual axe user. It would also suck if you're missing me, and I'm hitting regen on my TT80 dual blades. If I got lucky with a spark eruption, that would be the end of it.

I'm not saying dual blades are the best over the other weapon paths. I just think it's funny that most people think dual axes are required for BMs, and the rest of us must be crazy and dumb.

Don't let them stop you from being an awesome dual blader!

I agree with everything Zyfou said. I like using my dual blades. I craft my own to boot too so that helps with doing more damage. I always get people bugging me if I need help when I'm solo questing or grinding. They are not doing it to be nice, (well sort of) but they think since I can't down an enemy in 2-3 hits I'm weak, built my character wrong or they just think BM's can't solo. Well the only time I ever have to get a squad is for quests involving FBs. Now everyone has their own way of doing things and I won't say a word unless someone asks for advice or keeps dying in my squad or near me soloing. For people who like dual blade BMs keep at it, read the stickies for info on the skills and ask tons of questions if you have to. Have fun with your BM.

Since when do BM vs eachother in PK? We're not an awesome DDing class, so why vs other BMs? It makes no sense.

    It is easy:

1.- No other weapon will ever level as fast as Axes can do.
2.- No, the damage is not equal.

At level 90 using x2 Ring of Mastodon's Strenght, and 272 STR you get this:

HH90 gold Firelotus, Blade of the Dragon +6 (With one G9 Physical Attack Stone): 3341-4831 physical attack.

HH90 green Dragon Seekers +6 (With one G9 Physical Attack Stone): 4233-5160 Physical attack.

HH90 gold Calloused Lionheart Hatches +6 (Shardless): 3758-6406 Physical Attack.

Axes have over 1.6k-1.3k maximum physical attack, and 400 more minimum attack than Blade, but 500 less than Dual Blades at level 90(that is only IF the Sword/Blade character uses 272 STR).

The damage difference between both weapons grows higher with the levels.

3- Accuracy doesn't matter. Axes can have as much as any other weapon path can have.

4.- You don't fight meele characters during PvP, basic rule.

5.- The skills have the same speed for any weapon, so Axes will have as same speed as Swords when using skills.

Pretty much if you want to be a damage-dealer go with Axes.
