Archer Wings FAQ
All archers have the ability to fly at level 1 with Natural Elven Wings. These wings drain MP and are the only wings available until level 30. At level 30 you are given a quest to get Eagle Wings which do not take MP. There are also wings available from the cash shop or from other players.
MP Drain
The Natural Elven Wings you start with drain 2 MP/s while flying. These are the only wings that drain MP. You will be slowly losing MP while using them unless you have:
- an MP regeneration buff from a cleric or apothecary item
- equipment that gives you added MP regeneration (commonly a cape)
- 20 base magic (unadvised for an archer)
While flying a meter will appear showing how much longer you can fly before running out of MP.
Flying Speed
Your flying speed is equal to the speed listed on your wings plus the base flying speed. The base flying speed is a constant 5.0 m/s for all classes and is unrelated to the ground speed shown in the character sheet. For example, if you are using wings with a wing speed of +2.0 m/s your flying speed will be 7.0 m/s.
Flying speed is unaffected by the Wings of Protection speed buff or any speed bonuses from equipment. The only factors which affect wing speed are: the Flight Mastery skill, upgrading with wind widgets, and the "Accelerate" action.
Flight Mastery
This is a skill that only affects the wing speed of Natural Elven Wings. At level 1 this will grant an extra +0.2 m/s wing speed and at level 10 will grant +2.0 m/s wing speed. This skill is fairly cheap and some archers choose to level this skill so they can use some fast wings without having to buy cash shop wings.
Upgrading Wings
Only Cash Shop Wings can be upgraded via wind widgets. While some Cash Shop Wings start at a higher speed than others, the speed of all Cash Shop Wings can be increased up to a maximum of +3.0 m/s. The cost of each upgrade in wind widgets depends on the current speed of the wings.
+1.0 m/s to +1.5 m/s: 20 wind widgets
+1.5 m/s to +2.0 m/s: 60 wind widgets
+2.0 m/s to +2.5 m/s: 80 wind widgets
+2.5 m/s to +3.0 m/s: 80 wind widgets (max)
You can upgrade wings at the forge in the south west corner of Thousand Streams. Select the recipe for the speed you wish to upgrade to and drag your wings onto the ingredients icon on the bottom.
Some rare wings come with a base speed of maximum of +3.2 m/s or higher. These cannot be upgraded with wind widgets.
Acceleration
'Accelerate' is an action that is available from the action menu by hitting 'E'. This skill can only be used with Cash Shop Wings and Eagle Wings. When accelerated most wings gain 2.0 m/s additional wing speed but lose 1 durability per second. Acceleration is canceled when the action is toggled or durability reaches 0. Durability can be replaced by dragging chi stones onto the wings. Chi stones are gained from decomposing armor and weapons (preferably 2 star).

Perhaps mention that the Speed field in the character menu is land speed only? Some people are confused when it does not show the flight speed bonus there.0

Chi stones refill duration and that is mentioned in the Acceleration section. How to keep mana up is in the MP Drain section. This guide is pretty applicable to clerics and half of it is good for all classes. The version I will make in the beginner section will be targetted for all classes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I find the base speed of 5.0 and gear not effective 100% bs.
A while back a veno was giving me a hand me a hand with a quest on my cleric. Since we were being cheap and had the time we decided to just fly from Archosaur to the other side of the map. As we travelled I couldn't help but notice she was flying at the exact same speed as me, there was no deviation or skipping. I was using Natural elf wings with +1.0 into the skill and I was 100% positive she was using the 0.5 aero, which after checking confirmed that she indeed was. Now any elf that has added 1 point into wings should know that +0.2 is fairly noticeable, especially a cleric. So the mythological 5.0 base went out the window right there cause I would have been flying an easy 0.5 faster. I was of course more newbish and had to ask the run speed of a veno and she said 5.1, I also had taken note of her boots having +0.2 movement speed on them. It only took a sec to realize that if using our base speeds were it, that they both added up to 5.8m/s (5.1+0.2+0.5 = 4.8+1.0) landing us on the exact same speed.
So just to test a theory I asked her to remove her boots, and sure enough I started to slowly pull away until she put her boots back on satisfied with my theory.
But really, if flight speed was unaffected by any variable than the wings they wouldn't say something like +3.0m/s, they would just say 8m/s.0 -
Thanx for this information.0

good day0 -
Eagle Wings look like this (second image from top to bottom)
Yes they are a bit faster than the natural elf wings as they add +0,5m/s and you also have the benefit of accelerate up to 2,5m/s. You said you are new so in case you don't know what accelerate is you should press E and find this action button. Accelerate will increase your speed for a period of time, until you wings run out of energy (a blue bar of energy will appear while you use this skill). After that you need to "recharge" your wings using Chi Stones until you energy will be set to maximum again (max is 300).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
hello again
k then you mean that the wings i get at lvl 30
when us faster skil wil it have any enmtion like when

Perhaps worth adding to the FAQ is that no matter which wings you buy from the Boutique, after fully upgrading, their speed will be the same (+3 / +5)...
Or am I wrong on this one?0 -
No you are not wrong as that would be the max speed for fully upgraded areromount.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0
