Pet Trainer Bug?

I have got my first character, a venomancer, up to level 11. From what I've seen in this forum and of other venomancers in the game, I should have access to more than one pet. But I don't. The only pet skills I have are heal and revive. That is ALL I can get out of the pet trainer. Most of the menu items for the trainer seem to do nothing but open the pet bag, or an empty list of what should be skills. I've read several places that you're supposed to get a skill to tame pets at level 7. Where? It was never available from the pet trainer, which is the only place I've found that you can get pet skills. So wtf? How can other venomancers have a selection of pets to choose from when I only still have my first one, and apparently only one slot in the bag. The pet trainer does not ever have any quests available for me.

You aren't understanding me. The pet trainer isn't giving me ANY quests. I'm level 11. The taming skill is supposedly available at level 7, but I don't have it. The skill tree suggests that I have the requisites to get it. The pet trainer has no quests to give me, and no skills to learn. Is it bugged? Did I do something wrong? Is there a very limited window levelwise in which you are able to get the quest? It's just not there. Other venomancers appear to be able to switch between multiple pets at this level, unless I'm very much mistaken. I can't. I have only one pet. I have no ability to tame more. Is this the way it's supposed to be? Why does it look like other venomancers of my approximate level are able to summon various pets at will?

And your link is bad. All I get is a page load error. I searched the forums and there isn't any thread that addresses this issue, other than to tell me the skill was supposed to be available at level 7. This is either incorrect, or something is wrong. Do I need to file a support ticket? Do I need to delete the character and start over?

the skills are under "tame pet" at the pet skill trainer.

usually if you just follow the questchain you'll get a book in your inventory to learn the taming skill.

maybe you haven't finished the quest (it's the one with the sacred beast I think) or you accidently dropped/sold/trashed the book.

nothing else I can think of.

    2. The Sacred Beast will appear. Attacks are meaningless. Just wait until it dies.
-Obtain 1 Sacred Best Pet Egg

In order to learn the skill, talk to the Pet Skill Trainer and select the "Tame Pet" option, then click the skill to learn it.

THANK you Anjiru, that at least gave me something specific to file a ticket on. I logged in this evening and suddenly the Pet Trainer had a shield over her head, and this was the quest that she gave.

The rest of you still aren't understanding the question. Thanks for trying I guess, but I did say twice that the pet trainer did not have ANY quests to give, and that no menu item was giving me what I wanted..

And now that I've completed that quest, I'm wondering why I bothered. I've attempted 113 tames (yes, I kept track) and have a 100% failure rate. Doesn't matter what level the mob is (they were ALL level 1-3) or that all of them are marked as "relatively easy to tame". Apparently there is some trick to this that is not at all obvious. And yet I'm seeing venomancers LOWER in level than me who have multiple pets including sawflies. So again, wtf?

I'm so frustrated with this after just two days that I'm ready to quit the game. What use is the tame skill if you can't ever succeed taming anything? Does everyone just buy their eggs? Where do the sellers get them?

in the description it says low level tame has a low % chance
i believe in the quest it says that a mob that has less hp ( as in youve damaged it significantly) has a higher chance to be tamed, there is also an entire veno forum for sure info

Before using Tame Pet, you have to get the mob's HP down to 25%.

Send in your pet until the HP bar is about 1/2 to 1/3 full, then Unsummon it or call it back to you. The HP bar should drop to about 25% from its last attack, and the mob will start coming for you. Start Tame Pet. The mob will probably hit you a time or two but the Tame should be successful.

Just make sure the mob has the Green tameable icon next to it. It must also be at or below your level.

Hi I know I am a little late on the answer, but, not sure if you have figured out the answer or not, the best way to tame some thing is tio attack it till it is almost dead, about half its life is gone then hit tame, that will usually work, if you are trying to tame it when it is full life you are likely to succeed..
Hope this helps and it didn't come to late for you..
