Stop doing CS @ 81 for financial reasons?

With only a few hours to play each day, and WQ taking half of that, I think I'm going to be done with CS.

Reason being I'm a mage, it takes an hour to grind up 71k in coin.
Thus, I will be spending every playable second I have doing dailies.

In addition, I already dont have the money for 8x armor and my 79 skills, and to remain broke as **** to hit 89 faster just seems like a bad idea. If i save that 71k a day for the months it will take me to hit 89, I will have millions and can actually buy my skills.

Thoughts?

CS is just way too much exp to give up, consider using some of that time to join a successful, paying TW faction. Use it to build up coins. Whatever you do, -dont give up cs.- nother idea is spending a spare few $ into a faster flying sword/mount, cutting time off WQ will effectively add to your leveling/$ making time

it all depends.. there are plenty of ways to make coin.. now i'm not a wizzie but that sounds like a lot of time to grind 71k coin... have you tried rebirth quests? great exp and good income

you just need to find new mobs to grind on.. new ways to make coin.. try grinding parties at fishes or undines

Yeah need to grind more for $$$ but this boils down to "i have a life now, and can't spend over two hours on just dailies" :P

And the entire point of this was "stay broke as **** and do CS, or don't do CS and have plenty of $$$"

i understand you, its hard to make money for me too. Last night i grinded for 2 hours and only made 100k after repairs, ive tried every mob my level +/- 2 and still no change. Then again, i think drop rate for my particular character just sux.

if you are close to lvl 69 or 79 try doing some mold runs and sell the molds u get, thats how i made a few millions to cover crazy stone for some time

Wiz pots and repair costs is horrible if they suck all your money that much. =(

This thread is making me love veno even more. If I need quick money I can just go do TT and sell the items for cheap. Lol

Depending on your level it shouldnt be to hard to get the gold if you grind on the right mobs.. I was in the same boat when it came to CS and almost stopped doing it too but I didn't want to fall behind my friends in levels just to save a little gold.

What finally saved me was finding some fish mobs that drop a good amount of drops all the time.. for the last 10 levels I could get my CS gold in 30 mins of grinding.. Level up the earth skills and water shield so you can kill the fastest and get hurt the least.

The only time I did skip my CS was to get enough gold to level a particular skill so I would be able cut 15 mins off of my grinding time for the other days.

I stopped mold run even I can solo FB79. I get average 1 mold every 2 runs. but how much the mold sell for? beside the ring, you can not sell any FB79 mold above 600K, some of them even only worth around 200k, and I need to spend 240K each run on wines. I grind instead mold run now. make basically same amount of coins (if not more) but get way much more exp then running FB.

Except, ya know, the Misty Forest Ring or the Steppenwolf Lords Cape. Neither one of those sells for substantially more than 600k........

Just grind for enough DQ items to pay for dailies, that's what I usually do before digging into my bank money

DQ81 sells for 3350 I think, so collect about 25-30 to pay for CS and equipment repairs/pots

Farm your own wines for mold runs, it only takes time

Personally, CS isn't the one to give up. If your going to give one up, give up WQ. 10 mins for 5% vs 1-2 hours. I can spend that 1-2 hours grinding out some coin for the next few CS's.

i don't make more than that, and ive tried every mob around my lvl and they all drop the same amount of DQ i dunno how people make 20-30 so easily when to get that amount i need at least 3+hrs of non stop grindingb:shocked

PS. i dont use pots or charms for grinding so i dont even spend coin for that, and still cant keep up with expenses

i've given up on wq as well...well partially. i grind when i'm able to, wq when i'll be afk a lot. sometimes it takes days to make a wq trip lol

1 - get a fast mount

2 - secure a few mid mats spawns.

3 - gather mid mats for 15-20 mins

3a - sell the mats, you'll make more than enough to cover the CS quest costs
3b - make some ultimate substance with the mats you gathered and sell them, you'll make even more money

Are venos the only ones who can grind up? I mean I know you guys said you grind your level +1 or+2, and Im sure grindind 15-20 up is not even considerable without a party for you as it is with me and a herc, but if you can feasibly grind 10 lvls up you'll get a higher drop rate, drops worth more cash to npc, and the maximum experience for you level. Now finding these mobs may be the biggest challenge. I grinding 78's in dreamweaver from 58-68, now I can grind 80+, so find a veno so you dont need to take the damage is an option, and your repairs will be less and your cash flow more.

i know clerics can grind poison mobs several levels up.

sometimes it does seem mobs at 7x have reduced drop rates or even only drop coins for a long time - and they're white named to me. they should fix the drop rates, sometimes mobs drop decently, then i come back from a fb and the same mobs drop coins for an hour.

honestly if you cannot grind without "losing money" to repairs and charms you probably don't know your skills right. All classes except for maybe barb (who doesn't have enough stun skills) can grind fully charmed and if you take your time make 200k+ an hour (at 80+). This goes especially for archers! we have enough skills to keep mobs away from us and withing 2-3 hours you'll only spend maybe 100k off your gold charms, honestly its not that hard to do and you don't have to use pots or meditate at all. Just keep grinding being smart with your skills and you will find that the money just keeps coming in (you wont make too much more than the charm/repair costs but you'll make enough to get the nice CS bonus which is about 1 coin per xp which is a hell of a steal!)

71k is about 1/3rd the daily profit from a catshop. If you find you can only spend a couple of hours to play each day, then spending 15 minutes restocking a catshop and traveling between buying/selling locations is a wise investment. It does take a month or so to really learn the supply and demand of the in-game economy, though, but it's certainly worth it.

Dq71-81 doesnt catshop too well compared to dq31 though, those are just ridiculously overpriced.

well 31 i believe is expensive becaue of banker quest
71-81 are going up in value a bit atm (might be hard to catshop but doing DQ aint too bad i have seen people buying the DQ mats and shouting for them more and more) because at least on HT silver/dragon orders are going up in price due to 9x wanting end gameish DQ molds

i dont waste my time selling dq or equipment, its not worth it, you will hold onto untill someone needs it. Many ppl abondon dqs in later lvls too another reason they dont sell. Mid mats are the best option. I buy for x then sell for xx. Or i trade for gold buy 50 mats for 1 gold and sell for xx and still make the same profit but save the time it took to buy from other players. Grinding 10-20 lvls up to get dqs worth more, npc them, got the maximum exp and coin from the grind without hurting my time per kill/exp ratio,, then shop while im at work/overnight and i usually make 500k+ ontop of whatever I did make grinding.
