Late 30's / Early 40's leveling places?

So, I am currently level 37, and I've still got about 50% to go to 38. My main problem is that my current quests are either:
1. Not viable to do, such as running one of the FBs
2. Involving water monsters that keep killing me making the quest counter-productive (No sandstorm yet)
3. Involving me interacting with people I don't really want to. Random parties always seem to be with the worst people.

And, so, lacking any doable quests atm, where would be a good place to go grind? I saw in another thread that someone mentioned the skies above Etherblade, wondering if there are any other decent places.

Thanks.

These monsters can be killed without sandstorm. Use will of phoenix and right skill combo (i've used sr-gush-pyro-WoP-sr-crown of flames if it's not dead, IIRC).
    3. Involving me interacting with people I don't really want to. Random parties always seem to be with the worst people.
    Find good faction then.

Above all three starting villages there are 40lvl vipions; wood element mobs but can be killed quickly enough by wizard. For those lvls there is no better grinding mob i know of.

There are lvl 40 Pterosaurs at the northen end of Shattered Jade Shore and west of Angler's Village which are weak to your Fire element spells. I grinded on them and would recomend those, if the level 40 are too much just now under Heavens Tear you will find lvl 33/35/40 Pterosaurs all weak to your fire element spells.

i grinded on the hexwebs near shattered jade shore, i got a few people and we did like a mini zhen thing (lol me using a dragons breath, a axe BM, and 2 clerics) we did pretty good but when i grind i grind for DQ drops and not really for xp. but its all on whether u want xp or $$$

    XP- go with the dragons
$$$- hexwebs and the stones around them
as for your quest, i suggest you buy a HP charm and a few pots for your lvl
i think i used stone rain > D pyrogram > pyrogram and that was it, it normally doesnt take more than 4 hits to beat a mob my lvl or 1 lvl above mines
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

I tried dragons and hexwebs, and I prefer the hexwebs. They're easier and much more lucrative.

Also discovered that water combat is cake once I started properly using blink. x)

Though, I must ask, has Divine Pyrogram come into favor or something? Last I played it was usually kicked down to the bottom of things to upgrade as it was just something to do while everything else was recharging. Or to get when 60+ for use with Essential Sutra.
Hence, I only have it at level 1, which, a while back, seemed perfectly acceptable.
Did something change, or just changing paradigms of skill usage?

    what does lucrative mean?
D pyro is one of the best moves, i use it on all mobs but fire and water. well maybe cause my D pyro is at lvl 3 so has more range than my sandstorm but until i lvl my sandstorm im gonna be using D pyro

At those levels I trained on water/air mobs below my level. Lantern Mountain, Ptero's, Planesharks. Whatever I could kill before it reached me.

EDIT: And DPyro sucks, don't use it, there's better alternatives. Keep it at 1. Stick with your basic three spells, you don't need any others other than Phoenix for melee mobs.
Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

Lucrative is a word that means "makes me good money"

    And, alright.

Another question though, I've been considering my build around now, and while I still think it's too early for me to switch over to Light Armor (Probably going to wait until 50's or so to do it), I was wondering how exactly does one transition armor types?
Do you devote a few entire level-ups to filling in the stats you lack or do you gradually shift your method of stat point allocation?

My main reason for switching is really, even though I'm on a PvE server, I've never seen anyone who even wants an arcane wizard. Most people specifically ask for LA wizards for higher-end parties it seems.

It really depends how you want to train. If you have no interest in zhen parties there's not much reason to go Light Armor. Your job in FBs and HH is damage dealing, your job in grinding parties is killing fast, same for solo grinding. Arcane wins in all aspects but zhen and PvP.

You buy cashshop restat scrolls. If you put points into vit, it's impossible to filling stats to catch up. Even if you remained pure int, it'll still be hard, and you'll be underpowered for many levels. 50s are too high to change easily by filling stats, but too low to buy scrolls.

    Another question:

If I use a focus powder, and a cleric gives me the +MP recovery buff, how do those interact?
Do they stack? Does one overwrite the other?

    Thanks.

They don't stack, so you must tell every cleric not to buff you with celestial guardian's. Quite annoing, I must admit >.<

Is there a particular rhyme or reason as to how buffs overwrite one another, or is it just the most recently cast?

It would appear that there is some disagreement on this point. I like being able to take a few shots and give the tank a chance to get my aggy back before I die.

    LA isnt all that good....
i crit a LA wiz 18 lvls above me (at lvl 48) for 1258....
i have 800 less mana than a 7x LA wiz
i think taking more mag damage and having less mana is a bad thing (dont wizards use mana to live??????) so im staying pure ^^

its up to you though, this is just my 2 cents
