Magic mobs-Tactics

Now that I've reached 60, and I no longer seem to have to fight incredibly easy physical/melee mobs, I've had to alter my tactics.

Is there a better strategy than:-

Sandstorm>Gush>Pheonix>Gush>Force of Will>Gush

That combo kills absolutely any normal magic mob I fight, but I always seem to get hit at least once (twice occasionaly after casting Pheonix), it annoys me when my charm ticks whilst grinding so can any wizs offer alternate tactics for these mobs?

All help will be appreciated b:beatup

EDIT-The reason I'm using Force of will instead of shrink is due to it's reliability (shrink always gets me hit against ranged mobs :( ), it's lack of a chi cost and that it seems to land before I cast it

Sandstorm, Stone Rain, force of will, Sandstorm works pretty well if I seriously refuse to get hit at all.
Otherwise, I just stick with Sandstorm, gush, pyro, gush, pyro.
Those damned Acephalid Death Knight General have godly range >_> so its almost impossible to fight them without getting hit... unless you're lucky and they prefer to use their close ranged magic.

You'll see something similar at 70, those Death Knights.
    Enjoy!

You should use elemental weakness on magic mobs.
    On fire mobs i use:
gush > stone rain > gush > force of will > glacial snare > gush

    On metal, earth and wood:
divine > gush > pyro > FoW > divine > crown of flame to finish

    On water mobs:
sandstorm > stone rain > FoW > sandstorm > pitfall to finish

U should not be hit with those combo.
Divine and Sandstorm must be maxed for your level.

    Are You LA or pure?

Players having wizards in LA insist that there is no much difference in damage and the difference is at most one more strike, but often it's the difference between being hit or not, or avoiding being hit easily, or with costly skills like Force of Will and Will of the Phoenix.

I'm pure mag. I don't remember exactly at what level i started to kill Resentful Heathen (lvl 65 metal mobs). At first I had problems with avoiding their attacks too. But soon I was able to kill them with Divine->gush->pyro->gush and they died before I was hit ( at least if I had started from the max distance) I didn't go for buffs to friendly clerics but now I think I should have. Buffs would make grinding nice and easy earlier. Gush and pyro are skills for which the difference between pure and LA is the biggest. It's because base m attack is a bigger chunk of total damage in case of those, than in case of higher level sills. So for LA it may be much harder than for pure here. Later I moved to Acephalic Riders and killed them wit the same combination. No need for FoW or WotP.

If you don't wanna get hit, max glacial and use it as your starter, always. I have it level 6 now and I LOVELOVELOVE it! 80 % slow for 5.2 seconds is amazing. But at your level (early 60's) start with sandstorm and after that gush.

I'm a pure wiz and the following combo is strange but quick.
gush, pyro, gush, force-of-will, gush, pyro, gush
I also use it to quickly pull away mobs from BM I work with.

It kills all non-water-mobs on same level and metal mobs 4 levels higher.

    For water-mobs I use:
Stone Rain, pyro, force of will, Stone Rain, pyro, gush

... I like keeping mobs far away from me.

Not strange, G\P gives the best DPS. Though your starter spell can be a stronger one such as sandstorm or glacial. You'll still get your 3 spells in prior to the mob getting close enough for FoW and you'll get more dmg in X seconds.

    thanks, Rule.
As I'm not yet 75 (for SS) or 85 (for GS), they aren't maxed yet.
But I will give it a try.

sorry for the late reply guys, I posted the topic at lunch at work

thank you for all your input, from what I read here it's time to pick up leveling my unsparked nukes, especially Glacial for the uber-slow, divine I think will be my last nuke to level since there is no added effect.

When should I begin to level Force of Will(my favourite spell :) )?

EDIT-For my build you can check my sig, easy to miss I know ;).

depends if you TW or PK. If not get it up to lev 3 and don't bother raising till later. Its knockback effect is too useful to not have.
