Where to begin? I've been playing a certain game for 5 years ( I won't mention it's name but it's initials are W.O.W) and that is 1 good game. $15 a month and the world they created is yours, there are no restrictions, you can go out and buy like 200 flying mounts that go 280% faster than walking, the starter/ riding mount go's %60 faster, epic riding %100. And you can become fully epiced out, pwn the server with skill, not Cash/Money. ohh and LOTS of bag space not this 6 slot bank ****. So you can actually get somewhere in that game and it's satisfying. And the quest are usually within the area (Not 1000 miles away) Like you all PURPOSELY DESIGNED PW so the slow **** mount will force people to upgrade with a big chuck of $. The quests are original and "occasionaly" monotonuos but very rarely, with escort, rescue, find, kill, dungeons. But they keep it fun for the customer. They don't take advantage of their customers, they like them.
Your games on the other hand are designed to draw people in, get them hooked and make them fork over thier pay checks just to be able to get anywhere faster than a snails pace. A FLYING MOUNT I CAN RUN FASTER THAN? WTF is that? Then I spent $100 to make it go faster and it turned into a pain in the **** quest and I can't even see the difference in the flight speed. Guess I'll spend $100 more to go 5.5 mph.
And what's with the if you die you lose Exp ****?? Seriously.. Is that to keep people from trying something a little challenging? I actually lose EXP if I want to have fun and enjoy the f'ing game, a game that you can't zoom the camera out far enough to see the mobs that randomly path to **** you. Not to mention the half second delay on every spell. That cast should cast the second I hit the button. I kill 40 mobs, die, lose ALLL I worked for. If I dare **** up and die again, I loSe like 2 hours of grinding the same trash earlier!!. That is rediculously stupid.
You guys are trying to breed crack addicts and it's discusting. Have alittle morality. It took me FOREVER to make it to lvl 38 by your boring **** HELL monotonous-Kill 10000000 of this then 1000000 of tht system that I quit for a long time. I came back hoping you might have tweeked the system and made it feel more like a game than a drug but nope, same thing. I litterally get a dirty feeling like I shouldnt be playing this game when I do play it because I see every exploit you put in the game to make people pay more $. No joke, I feel sick from playing, kinda like I just killed a puppy kinda sick..
The ONLY reason I chose to right this letter was not to throw stones,(Well maybe cuz I don't like cussing at my toon to move faster or cussing at a vendor cuz it costs more to to teleport to quests than fly 2 MPH- Hence the "CHARGE MORE ZEN MY LITTLE PW FIEND JUNKIES".... I do like this game. This game has SOOO much potential, like #1 potential, but you can't be so greedy, let the people enjoy it, You've designed it to be a cult, an addiction. If you're gonna take time out of peoples lifes then make it fun not a f'ing grind fest, and if you're gonna take thier money, make it worth it, and in moderation. Not everyone can afford $500 a month to be the uberest. Then alll those people that say "F this game" might actually stay and you wind up making more money instead of losing customers. I SPENT $100 in 1 day ON A MOUNT THAT GOES 5 MILES AN HOUR!. NOW IT GOES LIKE 5.5 MPR. See what I'm saying. Why don't you get some of your developers and money grubbers to go play WoW, then you might learn what real game mechanics and buisiness ethics are so you can be on that road to #1. Like I said, I do like this game, but only for about 5 minutes a month then it makes me sick again..That freaking Flying Stingray is slow as f!@##. WAY to slow and WAY to monotontous. Ty for taking about 3 month off of my life. I spent like $300 on your game in a week. And it really didn't get me anywhere and was restricted to one character. WoW is just a much a grind for gear... here let me run the same instance a huge amount of times so i can get my epic gear.. oh wait a second.. they just came out with a new patch and all the gear i just spent months raiding for is now **** comparatively.. dang back to raiding again!

greedy is the cost of a game, plus expansions, plus the monthly fee required to play it. Spend $15 a month plus the cost of a game $40 in the botique and see what you can buy.

Ok. How does that guy calculate $900 a month from $15 a month??? Thats $180 a year. Yeah you have to buy 2 expansions. only ONCE each.. $45 for BC + $45 for WotLK. But you still pay $15 a month..
Is this the same kind of mathmatics that keep people playing this game?? I'm talking U.S. Dollars not Yen as over seas they laugh at you as fill thier pockets and take a year to get to your destination to grind 10000 mobs.
Hey guess what? You do have to grind in that game, But THAT game takes skill. Not mindless clicking, because you actually Have to move in a split second out of spells, you have trap, freeze, fear, banish, stun, turn them into sheep, frogs. curse, silence, buff people. ect...
Everything has a purpose in that game. And the controls and gameplay... You can actually move and do all this! Actually, you have to move to survive! That is a true game that requires actual teamwork and friendship.
His points are VERY valid.. PW is just good graphics with very bad mechanics..
Like it or not, defend it or try from experience. it's the truth. You can trust the U.S. dollar for quality or you can look at EVERY SINGLE free to play game out there and see they are all designed to **** you off and frustrate you to the point of giving in and spending a fortune to make it somewhere in the game.

Dont you all see something wrong where EVERY SINGLE ITEM in the game has an important use?? Yet you are given such a SMALL AS HELL means to carry it? There's no trash in this game..And the only way to make REAL money in the game is to SET UP A SHOP WITH THE OTHER MILLION PLAYERS?? Completely, totally lagging out the server. $900 over 5 years, is what the OP said, but yea add $90 for the expansions and 5 years ago probably another $60 for the original game. over a 1000$...what a waste of money.

you would have to be ****tarded to pay monthly for a game you purchased. Either you buy the game, or they give the game for free and you pay to use, or you pay for items in game, i would't even consider buying a game, then paying to play it, it would be like one of those pay to use public toilets,,,except once your in they charge you per square of paper.

People obviously like this game, look at how big the community is. It's different styles of games. W.O.W is more for the average income people or students who can pay $15 a month to play AND have a lot of time for grinding. Free MMOs are for those who don't want to pay anything to play an MMO, and those who have money but not time, and can exchange money for being more powerful and to save time. From a different perspective. for anyone a little above the middle class, if you can spend only $300 to be the uberest on a server? That's a much better deal than spending the time that $300 would've saved you to get there. b:victory

It's supply and demand. Game developers have to make a living too, nothing is completely free. for indie game companies this is much easier to start off in terms of marketing than charging a monthly fee.

On top of that, if you regretted spending that $100 in the first place, why did you spend $300 more? This tactic definitely works doesn't it?

I came to PW because I wasn't willing to pay per month and because I wasn't sure how I would like the whole MMORPG thing. Well, I've been playing to four or five months, have tried four different classes, and with my primary, reached lvl 60.
I don't play him anymore or only to help one of my friends. I am bored with it all. Bored with bosses, and more bosses and even more bosses. Where the heck did the idea of a 'boss' come from anyway?
As an elf, I have different quests than as a human or beast up to a point. After that, same old same old. Sooooo I'll probably continue to fiddle around here for a bit longer than go give one of the pay MMORPGs that is also know by its initials, but none are a W, a shot since they have a free trial. If I find no significant differences, I'll probably continue here until I can't take it any more and chuck it all.
I actually had hoped for a game that involved some real RPing, since I have been RP gaming longer than most of you have been alive, so the total lack of it has been the biggest disappointment. Also there seems to be this thing about who has the biggest and best of this or that, who's the highest level, who can beat up who, which class is the best . . . really, I don't give a rat's butt about any of that. I am too old to shiver in ecstacy because my bow is better that Arrowslinger's so stop making out like it means a damn it.
This game is a diversion in my life because I have become burned out on my only true gaming love, f-t-f roleplaying and just as soon as I overcome my little bout of writer's block I am going back to it.
Now, that being said, I am going to go back to work.
