no where can i find a stat distribution list for a tanking build. this is the closest the guide comes:
C. Tanker (Recommended Build)
Armor: Heavy
VIT = all points left over
STR = follow equipment requirements
DEX = follow equipment requirements

can anyone put the ACTUAL points per lvl? (every 2 lvl point distibution is ok 2)

the best i've gotten is 2 str every lvl, but that fails at lvl 13, for the next axe..

a straight answer would be appreciated b:thanks

    's probably about right. Although you'll find that with a strict regime of 7 str, 2 vit, 1 dex you might end up with more STR than you need at some levels. On the other hand you won't ever lag behind for any weapon either.

    I started on strict builds and soon found that I'm quite happy with just checking the equipment for the next 10 levels every so often and calculating my stat requisites in a spreadsheet. Yeah it's fiddly, but you'll know precisely where you ought to be heading.

    Umm, no that build while close isn't exactly right. You might end up having to wait a level or more to use the latest available equipment that way.

    ROFLMAO b:sin! I can't believe people have such a hard time figuring out a barb's build despite the fact that we have excellent guides right here!!

    Anyways I'm too lazy to type it all out again so here's a copy-paste of my post from my guild's forums. b:bye

    A barbarian is one of the most carefully built character out there imho. Theres no ground rule like every level X of this and Y of that.

    The only real rule (for a tanker anyways) is " enough Str and Dex to get the latest equipment, the rest into Vit".
    Keep mag at 5 or if you have a reset note reset it to 3. Adding mag doesn't help much in MDef nor in MP recovery. You are always gonna have to use MP pots (coz MP regen in combat = 0) or like me get a MP charm. Charm works out cheaper in the long run.

    Even after all this your build can vary depending upon the type of weapon that you use, but generally it involves adding 3 str per level or more. Dont worry about armors too much, if you follow weapon requirements the armours should fall into place.

    Dont try to plan too far ahead. Plan stats for next ten levels at the level you get your next wep. Decide how much str/dex you need to add over the next ten levels and how much you have free for vit.

    I'm sure you already know about the 4 types of weapons and the damage they can do (high-low-max-min etc.)Now lets look how they affect stats.

    EDIT: Just looked at equipment requirements here: http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi for requirements but your neighbourhood NPC works just as well.

    If I were using dual hammers:
    At 39, Id have 120Str 22Agi and 68vit. At 49 I'd need 151Str 26Agi. So I can add 15 points into vit over the next ten levels and 31 str and 4 dex.

    If I were using dual axes:
    At 37, Id have 113/23 and 64vit. At 47 I'd need 143/28. So over ten levels I can again add 15 points into vit and 30str and 5dex over the next ten levels

    If I were using polehammers:
    At 34, Str 104/Agi 21 and vit 60. At 44 I'd need Str 134/Agi 26. So I can again add 15 points into vit and 30str and 5dex over the next ten levels

    If I were using poleaxes:
    At 31, Str 93/Agi 21 and vit 56. At 41 I'd need Str 123/Agi 27. So I can add 14 points into vit and 30str and 6dex over the next ten levels.
    ===============================================================
    For my illustration I'm assuming a lvl40 character. So I have 5x40+15 = 215stat points. Im assuming mag is kept at 5. If reset to 3, add 2 more points of vit in all numbers below.

    So as you can see depending upon the type of weapon you use, at a given level you can have different stats. I tend to add all possible vit first so as to get maximum benefit of the HP boost.
    For e.g. Str/Dex/Vit at level 40 for different weapons would be:
    Dual hammers:120/22/73
    Dual axes: 113/23/79
    Pole Hammer: 114/26/75
    Poleaxe: 118/27/70
    ===============================================================
    This is the general method. Be warned, you will have to do some major changes and be extremely careful when switching weapon types or when weapon levels change.

    For e.g. I used my FB19 reward poleaxe until level 37 and then switched to dual axes.
    Another major change was when I was 50+ and started planning for TT axe weapons (which are available at lvl60). Now I had to add more str and dex (as I was short 7 levels) and remember passing many levels where I was just adding Str/dex and no vit, just so I could use TT weps at 60.
    ===============================================================

    Hope this helps!

    heh .... 7str ? dont follow your friend :P

    best tanker build is 6str 3 vit 1dex (can vary in higher level depending on your equip ;))

    yeah like minouft says... with that kind of stat allocation each 2 lvls youll be good up until lvl 70 at least, or 90, or whatever you chose for a weapon endgame.

    I see that you quoted that part from Dai's guide... if you would look down to the second or so page, it gives a list of all the reqs for heavy armor and dual axes, and you just put all extra points into vit... it lists from lvl 1 to lvl 105 so I think you'll be good with that. At least that's what I've followed O_O

    Yeah, the requirements are just below the builds' descriptions, lol. Just scroll down a bit more. I've been using the same scheme (more or less... ok, less, I have 40 dex and will leave it like this for a few levels, but other than that, str follows it, vit all left over). Quite good, but just look at the requirements for the dual axes, they will have the highest requirements of all the weapons. Put that much str, that much dex, rest into vit. Not hard.
    PS. Great guide, Dai.
