Friendship quest - Another interpretation

I know there is already a Friendship quest guide, but I personally did not understand it until I failed it miserably for a 3rd time. So hopefully my interpretation of what needs to be done might ease other people like me who are easily confused. b:laugh


This Quest has 3 part.

Part 1::

Ok, you start this quest in The Elder of Archosaur's little house.

Look for anybody inviting 2 people into a squad to do the FQ. This is the beginning of your quest. When you and another person has joined the squad, both of you stand near your Squad leader while he/she talks to Elder.

Soon the squad leader will take to the sky and fly off, follow him and you will end up at this Female NPC in white.

The Squad leader will land and talk to this new NPC. Like at the Elder, you and the other person in the squad need to stand close as he/she talks to the NPC.

Congratulations! You should now have an Orb of Friendship in your Inventory.

WAIT THERE IS MORE!!

Your squad leader needs something from you and the other person in the squad so remember who your squad leader is.


Part 2:

LEAVE the squad, go back to the elder of Archosaur.

Look for 2 NEW people who have not done the FQ today. When you find them, make sure they are close to you then talk to the Elder of Archosaur.

When you are done, fly back to the Female NPC in white and talk to them. Make sure that your squad members are close by.


Congratulations! You now have gained 20k Exp, some broken necklace and this thing called a 'Stone of friendship'.

Remember your old Squad Leader? Well you need to give him/her the 'Stone of Friendship". You cant use it so there is no point in keeping it.

But wait! There's more!

Like your old Squad leader, you will need TWO "stones of friendship". You may be asking "Dude, then why'd I give mine to my old Squad leader?"

The answer to that question is, the stones only work if you get them from the two people who were with you when you began Part 2 of the quest.

So now what?

You guessed it!

Part 3::

Tell the two people in your current squad to get you the 'Stone of Friendship'. (Tell them to read Part 2 of this Guide) If all works out, you will get one from both of them.


Fly back and talk to the elder of archosaur, then fly back to the Female NPC in white and talk to her.

Congratulations, you've completed the FQ in its entirety.

    Cool Post. I had absolutelly no idea about the FQ, just heard about it !
    I will try and do it just for the fun!

    I gave some questions though : what reward do you get after the part 3 ? And what is orb of friendship for afterwards (any stats or just a token of the friendship you have with the other guys).

    The person who starts the quest has to have a "frienship crystal" in order for the Elder of Arch to give him the quest. You get frienship crystals as a drop from mobs.

    Just standing by the elder of arch will prally get you into this quest, because whoever has a friendship crystal will need 2 people in the squad to continue.

    After you get the "orb of memories" or the pendant, they will both disappear after 5 hours, so you have to get the quest done.

    If you get the stones from people and put it into your pendant then ..... I dunno, never got that far, but I assume you use the stones to socket the pendant and then you get to keep it.

    Important thing to remember: when you invite people to your squad to do this quest, be sure they haven't done the frienship quest already that day, otherwise the Elder of Arch will just call them a liar and you can't continue the quest. If you get a new person in the squad and boot/or ask the liar to leave, you can continue the quest as normal.

    Like wolfgang said, you don't need to just leech off someone else's quest to start. You can get friendship crystals as a rare, untradable drop.

    Also, the elder gives you two choices. You need to mention which choice lets you continue and which choice gives you 5k xp. You also need to mention the reward which can be saved or turned in for more xp.

    Personally, I liked Satii's guide better, but to each their own.

    Also, youre going to need to fly so ur party has to be 30+ (elves under 30 dont count).

    Once u get the stones 4 ur broken pendant u take them to the elder he fixes it and u take it to the lady in white. She grumbles about something and gives u a token of friends ship.

    Heres the big question. Do i give the token back to her for yet more exp and rep. OR do i collect them (no expiration) sell them? (are they tradable?) and are they worth anything later on like to trade in for gear like dragon orders?

    First experience:
    Was called and asked to travel across map to Participate in FQ.
    Got there, told to stand around and wait for que to next step.
    about an hour l8r...told the quest was completed, sorry!

    Wait, wait...we need to run again.
    about 15 min of more confusion...Never mind, it is done.

    Second experience:
    Was solo-ing and received call to assist friend with FQ, traveled across map(again).
    When I arrived - SORRY, FQ was completed!
    WTF - excuse me, you couldn't call and tell me you STARTED?

    As far as I am concerned, I lost far more in time, hassle and lost opportunities to ever justify doing it myself or for others.

    I will not respond to another FQ request!

    Lol, good job. I love how you put in the last part about 5 rep and lvl 90 gear. A lot of people think it's only 5k exp and don't bother doing the last step.b:chuckle

    Yes sir the gear requirement level is 90.
    It takes 50 "Tokens of Friendship" to acquire each. So I recommend that you start early as you can only do this once a day. And then ONLY get the token if its done complete by everyone that follows you and gives you their crystal. If you have a perfect day every day it will take a minimum of 50 days or near 2 months to get just one item.
    Friendship Tokens are not tradable.

    True a Friendship Crystal is one method but is NOT needed to start this quest.
    Every method in beginning this quest quickly switches to the common Orb of Memories

    Ok, Your wisdom has prevailed and I now see the light. Thank You.

    My wife (BlondeStar) Has recently assisted others with FQ for first time, she had no idea what was going on, or what to expect. She was left abandoned by those that invited her. One individual made an inquiry whether she got hers. Being confused of the process and what she should have expected - she responded with "no!"

    He assisted her with her first part of the quest and again, everyone vanished - no one explained that she had to do the second part. There she was, with the damaged pendant - didn't know that she had to also obtain friends in order to complete "her" FQ properly.

    So, she spent all that time to help others but no one bothered to inform her how it impacted her, so she could also enjoy the reward that she helped them get!

    YOUR GUIDE is absolutely awesome!

    It makes the whole process clear, removes all mystery and confusion.

    This should be required reading for all low lvl players.

    As for your invitation to be a friend for a day...you can expect to hear from both, myself and BlondeStar in the near future. TY

    If you are not joking around and would like to include the 55k EXP guide you are more then welcome.

    Here is your chance to be the first person to supply the guide as there is no where else on the web that contains such information.

    Your 2 comments about it ,both on April 17, 2009, are the only references I could find. And in both you lack any detail. So without further clarification we are left to conclude you are just joking.b:laugh
