Fusing Shards on Equips

Hi, I am a pure mag veno. Recently, I have acquired many shards but I'm not sure which I should fuse to my equips(Excluding my weapon which I have decided to fuse sapphire shards onto). Narrowing the options down, there are sapphire shards(Mag defense), citrine(HP), or the green ones(Forgot what it was called XD;mana). If my pet does lose aggro, I am commonly hit by mag attacks, thus the consideration for the mag defense. However, since I am pure mag, the increased stats would help provide the defense anyway, but I'm not sure if it is enough. Which shard would you suggest to fuse onto the equips and why?
Thanks

Well.. basically +HP since you are constantly hit by Magic Attacks. More HP means more hits taken and it doesn't give diminishing returns like +m-def. M-def only helps against Magic Mobs, but since your a mage build, high amounts of m-def doesn't give much more increases. And +MP is pretty much useless in PvE as it doesn't really increase your MP Recovery (I'm sure +MP doesn't increase recovery rate rite?)

HP gets my vote. As said above higher amounts of Mdef give less and less resistance. Gemming for defense is generally best done to offset your weak defense since you get so much return at lower amounts. I don't, however, suggest gemming for Pdef since you have a meatshield. I tried that at lower levels and it really didn't help a noticeable amount.

for weapon use the Sapphire shards upgraded as high as you can afford that still fits with your weapon (remember to read the shards information so you don't try fitting a lvl 7 shard into a lvl 6 weapon etc cause they won't fit).

for your armor, as your a mage build your phys def isn't all that great but realistically phys def shards are not going to bump your def all that noticeable an amount, your still squishy. I would use the HP shards and bump them as high as you can to fit to your armor. The more HP you have, the better chance you have to get your pet to take agro before you die.

hp help in pve if mobbed, hp helps in pvp with charm ticks, hp saves you from aoe bosses where your pdef and mdef are severly diminished in effectiveness (lvl 150 bosses)
    shall i say more.? HP

Hp all the way, the only exception i see was an archer with evasion shards trying to maximize her evasion for PvP not sure how effective that was, but meh it was something new.

if you want to keep the pure mag build all the way, HP shards would be the best choise.

My trick was to give up on some mag stats in favor of vit stats to get my hp a bit higher and i use and gear with vit stats, imbued with phy def shards. Rarely seen this on venos, but it works damn good for me since i have both decent hp and some phy def. b:pleased

I think you are a high lvl then because ive done it myself and on higher mobs its more defensive, but when you are a low char i only would go on HP - if you have three sockets ore more put an MP or metal to it, know that works for me and you get a "glinstering" result.!!
