Apples and oranges there. DQ21 you actually get at 21, this you get at 74. If I want to DQ I do 71, or I buy the items for lower level DQ's. That's the whole point, it requires items you haven't been able to farm in 30+ levels. It's one thing for some of the higher level quests to require, say Elderwood for example I needed recently. I can go out and pick those, there's no diminished rate.

No one ever asked for a cake walk. We're just pointing out a very obvious flaw in the design. I would settle for a 5% drop rate from 7x mobs, at least it's an attainable goal. I personally trashed it, as most have.

Don't have to, didn't. What point did I miss?

Wasn't all directed at you, i am not good at quoting all the diff posts b:pleased

Thanks all for the discussion. I deleted mine. I chalk all the kills up to grinding I would have had to do anyway. Also learned where other mobs where.

I really did not like the synopsis in the first place. Punishing some one for traveling out of the village. Come on! I wanted to slap the elder right then. Then he asks me to help him. My first instinct was to say forget it.
At the time I thought there was a quest that follows. I also did not like how it did not tell me everything up front but I get prompted after each faze.

Now as I pass by the Elder I snicker under my breath and say "O ya I will get you that stuff just wait here" as I watch him age with every visit. Shortly he will kick over.b:byeb:flower Now who's not going anywhere? LOOOOSER!!!

O and that other repair materials quest [DELETE].

From now on I am going to research these quests.

"Elder: Well, well, already here. We just need to wait for him

You: Tell me the plan okay?"

    Part 2
"Elder: Tear down the houses, bury all the marks of the village with soil; cover it all with grass. Then we will tie all of the chicken beaks, and stuff the mouths of the dogs with adalwolf's bones, while stuffing all the mouths of the other animals with Fodder, Lastly, everybody hide underground and stay quiet,,,

    You: Then?"

    Part 3
"Elder: Then, we will be able to hear him pass, He won't be able to find the village so he will just keep on going! Haha! What a wonderfull punishment!

    You: That is too cruel!"

well.. actually.. if you would have played PW-MY a couple years ago already you would know that the same thing happened there.. though there hay was selling for like 10-12k each.. so they would have already known.. and could have changed it to like fungus or something.

what I did on this server to get it was offer a low level faction member 1k coin per, to get me the 50 hay.. they get the xp for the grinding, the coin from the drops, plus an additional 50k coin for helpin me out.. sure they could probably sell it for more.. if they wanted to wait days on end.. or they could guarantee themselves 50k immediately.. 1/2 of which I get back from the quest.. anyway.. so technically, it cost me around 500 per hay)

Isn't that ripping off faction noobs?
If I got 50 hay from faction for 500 per hay, I'd resell it at 7k, make 250k profit and buy oracles. and still get EXP :P. No matter how cheap you get the hay (even if its free) the reward isnt worth it...
The chillum is sometimes referred to as a chalice, based on a quote from the Biblical book of Deuteronomy. Thanks and praises are offered to Jah before smoking the chillum.

As everybody else already said years and years ago, if you don't like this quest then just don't. do. the. quest.

Me, I did it on my main just to be able to say I've done it once. I'm absolutely not doing it on any of my alts, because saying I've done it twice would get me laughed at. I farmed the hays using my cleric alt, which was in the right level range for the antelopes at the time and could use the spirit from grinding them anyway. Everybody else's mileages may vary.
