Buy high, sell low?

I've seen this going around in cat shops. People selling Yiyuan stones for 20k and buying for 40k. People say it's a scam, but is there really a way to hold a scam in with a cat shop?? I tried to sell to one and all it told me was "invalid transaction" my guess is they ran out of coin to pay for the items. Can someone tell me what's up with this?

The guy is selling an item cheaper than he's buying it for. So, the scam is to make you think you can just buy the item from him and re-sell it back for a profit. However, joke's on you when you try to re-sell and he doesn't have the coin to buy it. So he has your money and you're stuck with an item you didn't really want.0

Oh, okay I understand it. I just broke down some equipment for the Yiyuan and when it wouldn't sell I didn't understand how this could be a scam. Thank you for clearing it up for me. ^^0

Did they change something in the game? Last time I checked it won't allow you to set up buying in your catshop unless you have the coins.b:puzzled0
-
they probably have someone sell something on their catshop to make their coin less[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

You could just set the buy quantity to 1 and enough people would probably fall for it.
Honestly tho, this game is so easy to just buy low sell high theres no need to scam anyone.0 -

That is scamming. You are scamming players out of a good deal by driving up prices.
I found mispriced guardian angels for 4k each instead of 40k each. I bought them of course, to prevent greedy as hell punks like you from trying to get rich off of it. They are currently in my inventory being used as they should be. Not being sold for more in the name of greed.Main characters

It's amazing how often I see cat shops having the exact same item in both the buying and selling sections at the same time. And the price of the one being sold is usually at least 3-4 times higher (or more) than their buying price.
The devs need to change it where you can't have the same item in both sections.0 -

If you don't find such catshops useful (and most aren't), or don't like their prices, then don't use them, but let those of us who prefer to have the freedom to buy and sell what we need have it as an option. Why is freedom so offensive to some people?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

meh, if it's too expensive, don't buy it, the only people this would take advantage of are the ones who are blind to it being an obvious scam.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I understand economics, buy low sell high and all that, but I just get irritated when I see people silling purfied oil for 5k and buying for 500. I think if what the shop is paying for the item is closer (like 75% at least) of what you're selling the item for then fine. I don't get so pissed, but when it's 4-5 times higher then I have a problem. And honestly I think it's just stupid to see those prices next to each other in a shop. What kind of cheap, greedy person shows you that they're going to rip you off so they can sell the item for more. In my opinion it's just stupid. I support the idea of not being able to buy and sell the same item at the same time.

You're a saint.

Is there anything that you post that DOESN'T include you doing some random act of "God"?
But really, this game (every mmo out there) is based on buy low sell high. That's how people get rich, it's a economic advantage for some. The cat-shop scams are pretty abundant though, I see a ton of them.0 -

So let me get this straight...
You find totally mis-priced g.angels for 4k instead of 40k, and buy all of them to use for yourself.
But someone who sees the same thing and has no need for them resells them at the normal (not unfair) price, would be totally wrong and horrid?
If you go by this logic, then you took advantage of this faulty price just as much as someone who was going to resell them. You paid less than fair price for an item you benefited from. I see no difference here. Your post reeks of hypocrisy.0 -

She's just a total freakin' idiot.
Pay no attention to Zoe.0 -
haha this reminds me the 1 time i missed a 0 of my framework drums when i opened shop. sold 2 of them for 23900 instead of 239000b:surrender
but meh, it was my mistake, i lived with it. however if u really want to be nice, u would buy it, contact the seller and give it back for the price u paid. otherwise, its just simple taken advantage of a person mistake regardless of whether u resell it for higher or use it yourself. My body is made of swords.

It's valid to sell it for higher price, but according to the the amount of coin it is worth for. If a npc buy your item for 1K and you sell it for 1.3~1.6K. It's a decent price to sell. There's not scam on that. But to those who overcharge the items to a ridiculous price (e.g Buying for 1K and selling in the same catshop for 5.3K), it's really annoying0

Zoe, if you really wanted to "do the right thing", it would have been to tell the player that they have forgotten one of the 0's. I'm sure they would have been very appreciative of that.
They probably would have gone "oh ****, tks" and changed the price to 40k instead of 4k.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

See, but here's the problem. If Zoe'd gone and done that she wouldn't have gotten dirt cheap GA's. The whole point of helping the game economy remain cheap, is so that you can buy things cheaply. So clearly passing up cheap prices so they can raise them runs counter to that idea.0 -

it doesnt help the economy remain cheap by taking advantage of a mistake of forgetting a zero in the sale price. if u want to help the economy remain cheap, dont buy anything u think is overpriced like 40k ga, instead only buy 35k gas. buying GAs for 4k each is clearly a mistake in typing the price on the seller's part.My body is made of swords.
