Cuddly Pup as Pet

Hello Venomancers! I had a question for you:

I have a Veno alt that I play from time to time for fun. She is a pure magic, PvE build (9 magic, 1 strength every 2 levels). At level 30, she currently has two pets:
(1) Crystalline Magmite: primary tank
(2) Snow Hare: puller and main grinding/questing pet (because it's a more fun pet to use than the golem)

Recently, I got a Cuddly Pup pet egg as a gift, and I was thinking of using the puppy as my Veno's primary tank when she hits level 40. This is because I looked at its skills, and it seems to already know many of the aggro-holding skills that Barb friends of mine insist are great for a tank.

Still, I have no way of comparing the pup's stats with a level 40 golem's stats. Which pet's stats are better? If the pup's stats are worse, does the fact that it knows those useful tanking skills already make up for it? (Keep in mind that I play this Veno for fun and I don't want to waste a lot of money on buying and upgrading skills for her pets.) So, I guess what I want to know is: would the pup make a decent tank?

All constructive thoughts are very welcome! I look forward to hearing what you have to say!

This site has stats for the Cuddly Pup:

In a nutshell: not as good a tank as a Magmite, but the puppy has great speed which makes it useful for luring. Imo, just as cute as the snow hare, but with more useful stats.

I have a cuddly pup and a herc, plus other pets for certain things. Before the herc though, I had a magmite (I still have it but don't use it. Can't seem to sever the ties with it since he kinda grew on me all those lvls). I've noticed the pup is good for speed specially for pulling quickly. It has a worse magic resist than the frog or magmite. But it does pretty good against a physical attack. It doesn't put out as much damage as a Magmite, however it isn't that much of a difference. You will have to heal the pup more frequently, but maybe once more than if you would have to heal the magmite. The pup also has a skill that reduces phy. damage a mob will make which I've had tanks tell me that every little bit of damage they don't have to take helps. So even if it isn't tanking, it has some uses besides being soooo cuteb:chuckle
