Auto-pathing on main map disabled?

okay, so i remember when Auto-Pathing first came out, i could do it from the main map, which was awesome.

now however, it seems i can only autopath on my minimap, which is frustrating, because you can only go so far before having to click ahead again.

was it a patch or something that disabled main map auto-pathing?
how can i get it back?

    My auto path still works with the main map

    Make sure you don't have any NPC dialogue windows open.
