Optimum Graphics Settings Crash

The other day I changed the graphics setting "Textures" in game and saw an immediate improvement in ground textures but it lagged a lot more. After changing it back and forth a few times to decide if I would rather have better graphics or less lag I finally decided to leave the graphics on high a little longer. Later, I logged out of Perfect World and when I went back on the next day, the game crashed after pressing the Optimum Setting (or whatever its called) tab at the top left of the screen (the one that has a shortcut of F9 or control F9 or something like that.) The game is lagging a lot worse for me but the texture slider is all the way down yet I THINK the graphics are still better than before! On top of that I still can't do the optimum settings thing without it crashing every time. I would rather only have to reinstall PWI as a last resort since it took me about 6 hours to download it the first time. Thanks for any help I may receive and have a good day everyone!

    Any ideas for a way to allow me to do optimal graphics setting or optimal performance or whatever its called without the game crashing?
