Is it possible to have a melee and a range archer?
Built: per level
2 str
3 dex
I think it will be helpful on have two armor, both physical and magical defense, also weapons to help when the foe is in close combat range.

That's not a good idea. You'll just end up with both a weak ranged attack and weak melee attack. Not to mention no points left for vit if you ever want it for more hp.0 -
Since strength is for heavy armor, it have lots of physical defense, but weak magic though, however the light armor gives balance amount. If i imbuse hp increase to the heavy, and magical defense to light that would help in combat, but have to switch armors depending who I'm fighting.
To tell you the truth, I would last the battle instead of killing monsters and leaving me with lower hp and mp.0 -
Archer gets two upclose physical skills, also lightning skills aren't halfed when up close. You also can use knock back arrow and wingspan both knock the opponet back, along with stun and aim low aswell as frostarrow that slows them down.
Note that you can't knock people only mobs.Making new char..Which one? I have a BM..but I want more damage and stuff to do..
Experienced players contact with the cons n pros of there class and where to put points n what skills to up ASAP thanks..0 -
Your idea isnt a mainstream one, but its not a new one either. I've heard from a few people who've used this build and really enjoyed it. Your ranged will be weaker, but not by too much, i roughly calculated it before, i cant quite remember what the difference was, maybe 15-20%. The main perk is the armor, wearing heavy armor allows you to be a lot more reckless in PVE, and gives you advantages against phys classes in pvp. Ranged would still be your primary, and in terms of melee, you'd by no means be comparible to a BM, but it is acceptable.
As a build, it loses out on things like grinding and mana efficiency, and the killrate is slightly slower. But it allows you to dabble a little bit more in tanking, and be more playful when it comes to reckless AOEing.Meek with words, abrupt with arrows.0 -

It really doesn't help much in terms of PvP.
If you go heavy armor - I can almost say with certainty that you could not survive magical attacks by clerics or mages - you lack both magic defense AND HP.
With a weakened attack there is no way you can abuse the 1 or 2 meters of freedom from a clerics range to cast sleep - that is to stun and kill them with regular shots (robe) or lightning strikes (light)
In terms of PvP its a no win situation if you build for heavy armor.
You may have the physical defense, but you lack the HP to face melee's such as barbarians or blademasters.
You lack both the magical defense and HP to face a caster such as a cleric or mage.
In the event you wear light armor - you cannot deal enough damage before they cast some killer moves.
Believe it or not, that extra 1 DEX per level makes a significant difference when it comes to:
A) Robes
Criticals
C) Damage dealt from a critical.
It also doesn't help your Sage/Demon Cultivation either.
Sage relies on a user seeking to increase their already maximized power by percentages.
Demon relies on a user with a high critical rate, to push it even higher to deal large spikes of damage.
With 1 DEX per level missing you've gimped yourself of a bigger portion of a damage increase.
90% of 200 is greater than 90% of 100, for instance.
With 1 DEX per level missing, you're already behind 4% of your maximum critical rate by the time you hit your demon cultivation.0 -
ive dueled a heavy arhcer, of same lvl ( a few lvls before) with skills went down near instantly, with normal attacks, the crits pwned him still, i did have a slightly better bow at the time, but that def from heavy armor was not significant enough0

oohh jus dug up some old ss.
At lv 90 when i restat extra str from gear into dex with my lv 90hh xbow i gained 16.3 points of damage per dex. So the 100 points u lose at lv 100 is more than 1630 pattack considering the amount goes up with weapon refines and weapon level. 99hh+10>>>>90hh+8
Thats a lot b:chuckleOfficial Guild History
