Could someone please explain dragon orbs to me?

IE how to get them what they are used for and what lvl i should be worrying about them... thanx!

    Usually when you refine equipment with mirage stones, there's a possibility that it will fail. That's where Dragon Orbs come in. These orbs guarantee that you can refine your armor or weapon to a certain number without fail. Refining increases your weapon's physical/magical attack, depending on it's main attribute.     If you want to refine your magic sword to +1, you'd need a 1 star Dragon Orb (or higher but it's a waste). If refining to +2, you'd need 2 star orb. You can't use the orbs to say, refine it from it's base to +5 with just one 5 star orb. It won't work that way.

    You don't have to really worry about it until maybe around level 7x? It also varies on the piece of of equipment you're using and how long and your gear as well. If you're using a legendary mold for a while, you may want to refine it. Same goes for 3☆ or green Twilight Temple/Holy Hall equips.
