Does the percentage you gain get higher as you fight higher level mobs?

Read the title. When I'm grinding should I try to find mobs a number of levels above me, or will sticking to mobs one level above or even my level give me the same amount of experience? How much higher should I try for if higher mobs give higher amount of experience?

If my experience, the amount of XP gained is more when grinding mobs ~ your level or slightly lower because they die faster even if they give a bit less XP per kill.

You know, mental, try actually answering the question next time.

Probably. I think the table in that page explains it a lot better than I would, though. b:laugh

with my barb until i got my TT axes then my leg pole axe i used to grind pure physical mobs many lvls above me.

my reason was simple at the time i stood a higher chance of death from the mobs around tusk. they attacked more with magic. so yeah the kills took 1 1/2 time to kill at higher lvl but the exp was double and i didn't die. the drops were higher and so worth more.

after i got better axes and my sunder lvled up to 2 i began doing justice quests to lvl. if you don't know justice quests are your lvl mobs so....

i guess it is just trial and error if something isn't working and not part of a quest then do it your way and be happy it's a game.
one day the world will shout to me save us....
    and i will whisper no.

I usually stick w/ mobs 1-6 lvls above me
I noticed that even if I fight mobs 10-20 lvls above me give a slightly higher exp, they take a longer time to kill and drops less items

so I usually just stay in my range and keep doing One-man army quest for the reputation and celestone fragments xD

Basically, you get a liiiiittle bit more exp. But if you gain double exp on mobs that take you three times as long to kill... You do the math on that. There's also the added risk to yourself. Higher mobs WILL hit you harder, which means that you can die much faster - losing what extra exp you might have gained through killing the higher level mobs.

I personally stick with mobs within 2 levels. Any higher and they start to take one more spell, or standing around waiting for pet to finish them off. The slightly higher exp doesn't seem to make up for the extra time spent. The best advise I can really give is take an hour on one type of mob and see what you get, then try an hour on something a good bit higher. What works for one may not work for another.

Generally, stick with mobs near, but above your level. I've done mobs up to 20 levels higher than me (66 vs 86) and while for a veno it's doable, the amount of time it takes is only worth it if you are using training esotericas. Even then it's only worth it at really high levels when no one else is grinding those mobs (you can basically kill non-stop). The drop rate from high-level mobs kinda suck, but I've noticed it's not really that much better with mobs around my level at this point in the game.

Best grinding (especially for veno) is air mobs - once you reach level 30 and can fly. They require about, and sometimes even less, effort to kill as same-level ground mobs but give 10-25% more XP per kill. Drawback is that in half the flying mob spots you find, the mobs are dispersed very close together and you WILL get adds and WILL sometimes have to bail or die.
