A clock showing the server time.. that would be nice

well, like the name says this is Perfect World International, then a lot of peeps here have different timezones, my suggestion is some clock, here on site or on game with the server time would be nice, then some timed events would be easier to get .. what u think about it ?? b:thanks

Oh my gosh that's the most useful idea I've heard of in a while. Trying to always figure out what the server time is bugs me to death. If we get some clocks for each server up maybe I could make some of the events. xD I'm all in favor. Suggest for sure.

I personally think that you're a bit on the dense side if you can't figure out what time it is on the east or west coast. I understand that not everyone who plays the American servers is from America. But it's too easy to figure out what your timezone is.

Ex: I'm from the midwest. Central America GMT - 6:00. West Coast is GMT - 8:00 and East Coast is GMT - 5:00. So if it's 5pm my time it's 3pm WC and 6pm EC.

Now let's try something "hard" like England GMT - 0:00. And you're playing on the EC servers GMT - 5:00. It's 5pm local time, so that would make it 12pm EC.

I've actually never had a problem with server time, because I live in the same timezone as the Lost City server. However, I really do think that it would benefit greatly for something like this to be put in game.

Start factoring in the areas that don't do daylights savings time like Hawai'i for example, and your calculations fall apart by an hour for 1/2 the year.

As I never think about daylights savings time because we don't have it here in Hawai'i, having to remember IF it's DST or not in some other state such as California, which is two hours off from me for 1/2 the year and 1 (or is it 3?) hour off for the rest of the year thanks to IT using DST, then having to remember which way to throw the calculations, while not 'hard' is still a pita to have to do so a town clock in each major city with current server time, would be cool and useful as well as very helpful to those outside of Pacific time. While it may not be all that hard to code in, I doubt we will ever see it.

Rofl, yeah, the clock in the top left corner shows your computer time(or was it est time, but by the old daylight savings standards), I noticed that when i was figuring out when my first TW was.

The servers (the older ones, not the new ones) are now GMT-7 due to DST? It used to be that you could look at the bottom of the forums for the time, since forum time was server time, but forum time is now an hour ahead of server I think.

The clock on the loading screen (first one that pops up when you start PWI) used to say the time where I am, now I think it says PST server time. Ugh, confusing.
And when you're not at all good at basic arithmetic like me, its an **** to work out. The server already knows what time it is, so it would literally be 2-3 lines of code, 10 minutes work and another 10 maybe to find a place for it.
BUT like the pumpkinhead pills and that working for untamed, its just too much hassle to do some little thing that would make a lot of people happy.

I live in hawaii too and calculating time is a **** D=
