tips on channeling items

ill admit im a noob to channeling items... at what lvl should you start using channeling items and what are the benifits to using it..i have a few diff chars, a cleric, veno and just started a wizz.. who would see the benifits more?

    Personally, I would start using channeling items right away when I get them.
