different build options?

I would like to see more tolorance for people that do a build outside the normal types EX: magic venomancer/wizard/cleric. I know I enjoy a different style of play but every day I get at least 10 people calling me a loser or noob or something like that (most of the time involving profanity) just because of my venomancers build and i would like to see more approval of different builds
I know theres gonna be some hater posting and insulting me here too -.-'

...don't see how this is an actual suggestion. The game allows you to go forth with whatever build you choose. Some builds work better than others, and some builds wont let you kill mobs 10 lvls lower than you. If you have a bad build, you should ask a higher-lvl venomancer for advice.

It'd be better for you to go to here to see if your build's great, decent, or terrible enough for you to have to restat or restart.

that wasnt quite what i was thinking i know my build can do the job and so far i havnt had problems with combat sure its not muh of a suggestion i jsut want the ingame cummunity to NOT call me all kinds of names cause my venomancer uses a bow and claws... i've even had people mock me in world chat because of that. I played a magic based veno i didnt like how i drew agro away from my pet (and not cause i hit first contrary to what all the higher level venos claim when they insult me) a magic based veno in my opinion is only good at pve. My build is a good pvp build for your basic fights even tho i have weak heals but my sarab damage hits 3k+ with some skills but average is about 1k. Sure magic build is good for most but not for my melee additude. I love the melee style but i hate heavy armor. i'll keep experamenting with different builds to see what one is best for me but i think a claw build is best so far : )

A Veno with a bow and claws? It's no wonder you get made fun of. I am all for "playing how you want" but there is a limit. If you want to use bows, play an Archer. If you want to use claws, play a BM. All you are doing is making the game far more difficult then it needs to be.

Also, this is not a suggestion for the PWI staff. They have no control over how the community reacts to variations in playstyle. I would suggest posting to the General forum, but my above reaction would seem like an enthusiastic support of your style by comparison. Your best bet is to remain very quite about this matter, lest a firestorm ensue.

I have to admit, that's a pretty unique build you have there...but to each his own, I always say. Honestly, I've been seeing this problem pop-up with me, as well...though I always thought a Light Armor build on a Wizard was pretty acceptable, I seem to get made fun of for it. I mean, I like having a balance between Physical Defence and my Magical Defence, and the extra Dexterity helps with my critical hit occurance (on a side note, I just LOVE the Wizard's criticals... ^_^). Plus, a little extra survivability never hurt anyone, right...?

Sure, I may not be able to do as much damage as an Arcane Wizard, but I still get the job done, and I'm still having a great time. It's just, well...when people start to ask me, "Dude, why a Light Armor Wizard?", or, "A Light Armor Wizard, feh...", it's just, well...gets to me a little.

Well, that's my take on it at least. Even though I may feel put down at times, I'm still happy with my Light Armor Wizard. And to the Original Poster, I offer you a little quip of mine...

"The day you wake up, look in the mirror, and see the image of someone else's visage...is the day that the world has lost another unique and creative mind." --Konari Raiden.

Yeah, it's me. Don't read to much into it, though; I'm only here for myself now, killin' time and chillin' when need-be. So sue me. Tch...

Actually, I was in a discussion on something like this a little while ago (veno in question was using swords not claws) and it was pointed out to me (because I asked politely) that, while yes you loose most of the skills (bramble guard can be cast ahead of time with lvl 1 wand), you become much stronger in PVP. Imagine a PVP Veno with a phoenix where the Veno is just as tough as the average BM (in terms of armor/HP), PLUS she has a phoenix ganging up on you. No one-hitting that Veno.

The one thing I would look into, What900, is this: does light armor (sounds like you're using that) and a high dex give you more benefit than heavy armor and more Str would? How much accuracy and evasion do Venos get for their dex? How much HP for their Vit? Will heavy armor's Phys Def be more useful to you than light armor's mix? I don't know the answers to this, so I won't answer for you, but they're things to look into.

As for drawing aggro from your pet, I know what you're talking about. I do that from time to time, and it's not because I hit first. It's usually late in the fight, and generally I kill the thing before it gets to me, but if it has double HP, that's no guarantee. The cause seems to be that I'm just out-damaging my pet by THAT much.

We can already do that and still have full use of our skills. It's called a heavy fox build.

Ah, but Foxform requires a magic weapon, which nerfs your dmg compared to a sword or axe or spear.

listen everyone...let other people choose how to do their build if they want a unique one who cares IT IS JUST A GAME! there is no reason why people should be made fun of because they want a challenge or they want to do thinks a certain way. if you think that is weird of them then you need an adjustment on how you think...not to rant or flame but i have enough of this **** about people dissing other people about their builds... it ticks me off! just let the others play the game the way they want to and play the game your way but don't diss them for doing what they want...if they end up dying later on for what they did it is their fault but you don't have to say all of the demeaning **** like how they should have listened to you and that they are the biggest noob in the whole game because that just isn't right...

I'm BM using a bow as complementary weapon and a lot of people find it useless, pretty much until they see me using it.

I have talked about this before.

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=200762

the funny thing is that I have been in squad with some BM and when mobs are in pack, none of them dare to pull. So, that's when I come in, LOL

I also use my bow when helping lower levels. I kill lower level mobs with my bow (1 to 3 shots per mob).

With mobs at my level I do 5-10% damage prior facing them with my swords.

I also defeated an lower level archer in a duel, just by using my bow. He thought I was kidding that I was going to win with my bow. LOL (ok, I was 20 level higher but he thought he could beat me since I was not going to use my swords)

    Edit:

I forgot to mention that whaterver you do with your toon. Your toon should still meets its role in the game.
For instance you can do anything with you toon as long as:

Barb: You need to tank. People call barbs to tank. I you can't you will be consider a failed
    Cleric: You must heal
Veno: aside from soloing (LOL), you must for sure be able to pull single mobs from pack.
I like BM since we can do pretty much anything we want and nobody expect BM to do anythig as other races are better.

Note: I only skimmed the posts as im runnin everywhere so if i missed a comment or 2 sry

my veno easily can pull single mobs i can easily range mobs however i keep a charm on since i still need to add dex for a bit (nother 4 lvls then i start vit) as for clerics as long as they got the skill they can heal (im tired of being harassed about my heavy armor cleric)

i heal about 400 a heal (low i know) but my pets skills easily compensate
as for the pvp build that was my goal
i use a wolf with fireball icicle boost and ream

my choice in armor fits me real well heavy armor has low magic resist arkane has low phys resist light has balanced on both (tho its low) i take mmore damage from magic mobs since melee missestoo much (i average 25% evade rate)

i have at last check 1288 accuretcy 1288 evasion lvl 54 claw build tho i use duel blade/bow since theres more damage potential with that combo i cast and heal pet unarmed too

i easily outdamage my pet reguardless if i dont have my pet do some extra agro skills EX:fireball/iceicle

heavy fox build never works for me i hate low magic def howeverr i do need to check with light armor tho but thats the most balanced since resist and def seem to be similer
as for a bm with a bow thats a great idea
im currently working on a claw build cleric even tho my ingame husband gets on my nervs about it

    Note:

i know i suck at grammer LOL well im gonna go back to testing poleblades with my veno (i can use almost any type of wep avalable other then magic)

If is working for you, great. I actually like that, since I hate characters becoming carbon copies. You are original which I think is great.

im full of ideas most centered around my favorite weap types (claws/bows)
havnt gotten anywhere with my claw cleric but theres always unarmed healing :) (tho i know it makes the heals so much weaker) also thanks for the support and i pked a barb ingame for calling me noob cause i use spells unarmed xD

EDIT: what is it with people ksing me just cause im not a magic veno sheese and why is it almost always a barb or archer that is ksing
