hi all,

im going to get a new laptop and i wanna run pwi when im not at home (my luck that umts internet cards are kinda cheap in my country)

i just want to know which portable computers u use to run pwi and which performance u get ?

are these netbooks with atom processors strong enuff to run it ?

or do i need a notebook with a dedicated graphics chip ?

im not looking for full featured graphics on a portable computer - but somewhere in middle of the settings i wanna end.

maybe some of u have tested allready and can gimme a bit of information on which new laptop computer i should look into.

Todays netbooks are able to run PW.

Here are what I got. The fps are estimated, I didnt run any special program.
I had tried to play PW in my eeepc-701 and roughly got 10 fps(if Im not mistaken), but with small screen (800x480) its not convenient. Plus my eeepc only had 4gigs of HD, I must install PW on a flash disk.
Another netbook that I have and still using is the MSI U100 series. I get decent fps (10~25) with 1024x600. If the power plugged out, I get 5~15.

I would say if you can play on any netbooks. But their small screen and low fps might be annoying.b:mischievous

If you wanted to stick with netbook this is where I would go:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220385

Has an actual discreet graphics card that can play COD4 very well even. Would be great for this game I am 99% sure.

    hi-

you sound like you are in a similar boat to what i was in. i just bought a toshiba satellite s6916 laptop (i paid 900-- it's msrp is now like 760 at best buys)

    http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a305-s6916/4505-3121_7-33496204.html

it got great reviews, too. it has an ati radeon graphics card, and it's not a top of the line one-- but solid enough to smash PWI and WOW in higher res settings. not to mention, toshibas are known to last a long time--

i should add that the one major drawback to this laptop is battery life-- it is a powerful beast, and so the battery life is only about 2.5 hours... which really sucks. but if your like me, and don't see yourself being away from an outlet for long periods of time, then it shouldn't be a problem. and you could always buy a second battery and carry that around, too. as you probably know-- graphics cards in laptops can't be upgraded, so i reasoned that i would be better off getting a nice graphics card and buying a second battery for longer life since i didn't want to ge tstuck with some integrated piece of ****.

    hope this helps!

Yes, definitely get an extra battery if you're planning on doing any traveling. Keeping your laptop connected to power outlet at home will rapidly drain the battery for good.

For example my laptop was connected to power outlet for about 2 months just about 24/7 and now it immediately shuts down if I take the power cord off. That's how bad the battery is.

I just recently signed up and installed the game and patched it.
But when ever I try logging in, it just waits for 40 seconds and fails to connect.

I even reset my password, but nothing seems to happen.
When I requested for password recovery, I got an email from the perfectworld.com, but when I first signed up for the account, I did not receive a verification email.. Can someone help me?

Can someone send me a message, regarding this problem?

Wait for about half an hour. It's maintenance time.

I have a laptop that runs PWI 24/7.
    Here's my specs and I have no issues/trouble besides the dc's from using WiFi lols. All my settings are maxed with everything enabled. Only "lag" I get is in West Archosaur from all the bloody cat shops compiled into a small area. ^^;

    OS: Windos Vista Home Premium
    Manufacturer/Model: Dell Inspiron 1535
    Processor: Inter(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00 GHz 2.00 GHz
    Memory: 3.00 GB
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series

just for kicks I use an Attache 2 GB memory stick for Ready Boost adding roughly another 1.8 GB of memory.
