Archer's Pets? =S

Hey
As you can see by my level, i am quite new to this game, and i dont know what pets i can have...i recently saw an archer with a volcanic magmite as a pet and it looked really cool! is that a pet an archer can have? and what other pets can i have? any combat pets and what is the price range?

    I don't know exactly what you saw, but an archer absolutely can not have a volcanic magmite as a pet. There are plenty of all class pets that can be used by anyone, even though the eggs can only be tamed by venos.

    All class pets do not do anything though, they just follow you around, although sometimes pvpers use them to mess up the targeting of other players.

    Prices typically range from 200k to 5 million coins. at least on sanctuary.

    The pets I can think of off the top of my head are:
    Baby Snow Hare
    Baby Antelope
    Baby Bear
    Baby Frogling
    Baby Cuddy Pup
    Baby Tabby Plumdrop
    Baby Windwalking Piggy
    Baby Foxwing
    Baby Fire Fairy
    Baby Butterfly Fairy

    So do i just buy an egg off someone, then what do i do?
    And what kind of pets can an archer get that is a combat pet?

    Uhmmm, can you read? Read Hisuna's post 100 more times to get it right before you post again if once is not enough.

    Only venomancers can have battle(combat) pets! All class(Meaning all other classes) pets are only aestetic, they cannot fight, and you have to buy them from venos, since they can only tame mobs needed to be combined, to create all class pet! So, THERE ARE NO ARCHER BATTLE(COMBAT) PETS! THERE ARE ONLY VENOMANCER BATTLE(COMBAT) PETS!

    This was a bit unnecessary but it is true that no class except venomancer can have a pet that fights...there is no exception to this rule.

    After buying the baby pet egg from another player...you take it to a pet skill trainer or a pet manager and select "Hatch Egg". Note that you must have an open pet slot in order to do this. Everyone starts with one pet slot.

    Actually, every one starts with two, I think. At least my veno did. As my acrher, I only have a riding mount (which you also have to get hatched and it counts as one of your pets).

    Even as a venomancer you only begin the game with one slot, but because of the functionality of the class, you do a quest very early on (not the pet bag quest) and part of the reward is a second slot. I forget exactly what level, but it's definitely no higher than level 7 when you get it. I think it's 5...

    7, actually... my Veno did it recently. :P Then my Archer had to run around gathering hay for awhile, but... yeah.

    Kishan, give some thought as to what kind of pet you want from Hisuna's list. Just be aware that only some of them are cheap enough to be affordable at your level. Foxwing, Huggy Hare and Antelope are all decently priced - my all-class pet is an antelope which I got for around 200k from the auction house. I bring it out sometimes when I'm grinding on ground monsters and my friends aren't on - I like to think it makes me a little less bored to have a virtual "companion" for awhile. XD

    Tabby Plumdrop and Cuddly Pup are obscenely expensive (2-3mil probably)... and on top of that there's a lot of drama over them which it'd be nice to avoid. I can't say what the prices of the others are.

    But again, all-class pets absolutely cannot fight for you and you will never be able to acquire a pet that can... so you're basically just spending 200k-300k on a decoration. Pretty amusing/cool decoration, though. :)

    One last thing: you absolutely MUST buy a pet that has "Baby" at the beginning of the name. Don't buy a regular antelope or a regular huggy hare egg - those are only for Venos. Double-check!

    I use the baby butterfly pet, its dosn't do any attacks but it helps a bit. i mean it does make it harder for someone to target you if you get into a messy situation :3. But yeaaa, only veno class can have combative pets.


    btw every class starts with 1 pet slot, but you can upgrade your pet inventory so that you can have more than one pet. >.< I use a midnight and the butterfly.
