Usefulness of cuddly pup?

I have a cuddly pup and while he's very cute, I was wondering how useful he's going to be for me at higher levels. Right now he's doing well for times that I don't need my tank, but I've heard that the bunny becomes pretty useless after level 70 and was wondering if the pup is the same.

    Honestly you won't use it unless you really want to. Its more of a fun pet. I'm going to level either a frog or a bunny to start using in pvp.

    Puppy is a good pet for luring because its fast.
    Almost as fast as the kowlin, but much higher survivability.

    Though im beginning to think if you want your pet to survive a lot while luring, the best bet might be an eldergoth marksman. (for obvious reasons)

    I've noticed his speed. It's very useful, and I'm upgrading his skills so he can actually do a bit of damage too. It's a shame his HP leaves something to be desired, but overall I'm enjoying working with him.
