Best beginner pets?

Lcewolf - Lost City

What would be the best pets for venos that they get in the beginning. I'm choosing on the Varicose Scorpion or Sharptooth Wolfling. Which is better based on overall stats. (Main stats i'm looking at is m.def, p.def, and damage).

Tawarwaith - Sanctuary

Basicly,
Scorpion = high attack (OK m.def), but low hp and phys def.
Wolfling = overall average.
