One week character deletion

GMs / Developers, is there a way you can make it so when I delete a character, it will go away instantly? I'm not so fond of the one week waiting period because if I wanted to use the same name but on a different character, I'd have to wait a week, and that's simply too long.

A lot of people are saying, "well, what if a hacker got on your account and decided to delete your character, wouldn't the week wait help to make sure your character don't get deleted unintentially?" Sure it would, but another option is to just leave the waiting period there, and implement a secret question of some sort that just the owner knows, just like other games. Then if the original owner wanted to delete their character, they would just answer the question and go on with making their new character.

you can't reuse name after deleting your character. that also gives the reason why not make it faster than 7 days.

This is a security feature as well, as I understand it. Someone gets into your account, a character can't be instantly deleted, which gives you time to contact PWE to fix the situation.

Also, if you later change your mind in that week, it gives you some options. b:pleased

Does that mean that if I want to start over with a character that's badly gimped I have no choice but to create a new name? I really hope not because I'm waiting for a BADLY gimped Cleric to be deleted so I can start over and I really don't want to make a new name for him. If this is true cant the devs fix this because something that makes a name permanently unusable has gotta be an error right?

You CAN re-use character names from characters that have been deleted. It usually takes 24-48 hours AFTER the character is gone to clear the name for use again. The only thing stopping it would be if somebody else took the name before you get it back.

with the use of reset stones and makeover scrolls, you can virtually remake the whole charactor without deleting it. Of cause you cant turn a Female into a Male, but you can change a Fox Veno into a Bat, Deer, Rabbit, etc. And a Wolf into a Panda, tiger or Lion.

If the reason you are deleting your charactor is because you've screwed up the stats, or because you want a Fox instead of a Deer etc, then this way allows you to fix those problems without having to delete it completely. And then have to work to get back to the lvl you were.
