Don't get angry because some poeple see things differently. I could say that you and the Lost City archer were double flaming on me to. I don't mind, you have the right to think my build isn't good. That's the point of a forum: we can discuss about it, confront different points of view. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't say your build was "bad", nor did I say that mine was "better", or anything pointing in the same direction. You're the one that was suggesting that I should review my build. I simply explained that my build isn't bad, and that I can kill mobs above my lvl to.
I appologise if you think I'm flaming you. That isn't the case. All i tried to say is that from lvl29 sp are gathing rare, so everybody chooses his own path. Some go "pure def" (like me) others go "pking barb", and every path that's between those 2. The main reason why you think my damage is really low, is because I always grind in tiger, which reduces my damage to 65%. You say you use stomp of the beastking, meaning you grind in humanoide, enableing you to use the barbs damage skills.
Your build is definately different from mine. Not much difference in str, but I add way less dex. I have +/- 30dex right now at lvl52. This of course also explains a part of my lower damage: I miss more often. Again, I don't judge your build and choises. You build your barb according to your playing style, I build it according to mine.0 -

To cut a long debate short:
A barb grinding in tiger form does less damage, but due to higher def and HP takes less meditate breaks. The duration of meditate is also a lot shorter due to feral regen (which I believe works better in tigerform; ecatomb doesn't say that, but I swear I do see a difference).
A barb grinding in humanoid does more damage, but due to lower def and HP takes more meditate breaks. Its pretty balanced if your trying to save money.
However if the humanoid barb uses a lot of pots or lets his charms wear out, the hes definitely going to be leveling a lot quicker.
Also note that the 50% dmg reduction in tigerform is only weapon damage, and does affect damage from skills or buffs. Plus a maxed poison fang (which again only works in tigerform) does add a significant damage. My damage as tiger (lvl3 trueform) is only 20% lesser than the damage I do in humanoid. (3000 v/s 2600 for e.g.)
And as to the original topic. Humanoid or tiger, the damage output of a barb per attack is always gonna be way lower than any other class. I am able to do damage now in the same range as a lvl50 cleric friend.
However due to our lower channeling and cast time a full str barb humanoid build with the right skills may be able to do the same amount of damage over time as a BM or a support cleric (as thus level at their pace, but with a higher cost in pots and charms). Archers, venos and wizzies will still outdamage the barb.
Like I always say, barbs aren't meant to do damage. We are meant to take a licking and keep on ticking. When the going gets tough; Get a tank!

dude are you kidding??? click the find "find quest" box on the top left corner of your quest box..... I was doing quests only to level up to about lv 37... you just aint looking for quests. And barbs aren't really that hard to level until you get higher[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

The onyl quest i missed out is the manufature quest and thats 50exp. Barbs are really boring at early levels i cant grind 30% since i need to heal for every 2 kills.
For all my other chars they dont run out of quests till lvl 37 so i was kinda shocked to see i need to grind 30%

Tell your barbs to train in tigerform and start the attack with alclarity. This stops the initial DOT curse. If they still insist on going humanoid, they better hope for multiple stuns with mighty swing or they are screwed. b:victory
As for not aggroing multiple mobs, more care needs to taken in where, when and how you attack. For e.g. don't just run up to the mob on the group's edge and attack, it will run away from you and into the remaining mobs. Instead run to behind the mob and then attack, when it runs, it runs away from you but also away from the 'herd'. b:chuckle
EDIT: And I'll add, if your barbs say they are having a tough time with something, go help them out. You'll more than ever want them to be leveled faster later. When the going gets tough; Get a tank!

thanks a lot, and i do help our barbs out when i can, its just that it almost seems the game is getting more and more impossible for them. i dont think i can even remember any late lvl 50 to early 60's physical mob that isn't dispersed amongst aggroing magic ones. if u guys have grind spots for that lvl range, plz tell me.0

Barbs aren't that hard to level, at least to me and it was my first time playing it. The guild I joined as soon as I started level 1 was surprised I got to 23 in so little time and that was because I was doing mostly grinding at my levels to keep up with the speed at leveling my craft skills so they wouldn't fall behind as bad. It also doesn't help that people are wierd and selling the mats for lvl 4 gear+ for over 6k a pop.
Like someone earlier in this thread its your choice to play the barb how you want. Personally I wish I could put my points into some of the aoe skills since it isn't that hard to line up the monsters to get off your fan aoe and let loose with the others but in reality we need to save up spirit so we can put points into the skills that really matter.Hazardus - Heavens Tear wrote: »To cut a long debate short:

I've noticed that too. I think since you have higher HP the regen ticks higher/more constant at the increased HP amount possibly.Executor of Dominion
