Venos in TW?

Okay, so I love the venos my favorite class to play by far, and I want to have her help a friend of mine's guild in the TW. But I hear that venos are terrible with PvP unless they're a fox form veno. My problem is that I really favor the robe build. So can anyone give me any good tips for ways to still maintain my robe build but be at least competent when it comes to PvP and TW?

(by the way, sorry if this was already posted somewhere and I missed it. I did a search but nothing came up ^^; )

As long as you have a phoenix, you'll be useful regardless of armor type.

A cheap tactic that some faction use these days is sending in mass number of phoenixs to take down the high levels.

However phoenixes are one of those pets that you need the feathers for and are really expensive to get. There should be a way the veno can do it without the need for some kind of uber pet.

I'll most likely be the only veno in the game that gets a phoenix but never uses it for pvp.

I did just fine in TW with arcane armor. I was often quite a pain to kill.

Arcane build may suck pretty bad in TW/pvp, but if you take advantage of at least amplify damage, purge and fox form and either light or heavy armour you should stay alive alot longer. If you don't want to touch or have no real interest in taking advantage of the rest of what the fox skills have to offer, I suggest going light armour as mage veno.

Pheonixes are just cheap imo. I use a sawfly and rely on skill. I have a high survival and kill rate in TW. You can be arcane build and have a pheonix but you're still a one shot to almost any class. I do have a guide posted up the top, have a look and see if there might be useful information o:

So a robe veno is fodder in TW. That's unfortunate, but I appreciate the help. I wonder. Would a robe veno in fox form be more effective? I know it boosts defense but would it be enough to make up for the lack of defense the robes provide?

Fox form in robed veno serves no more than being a getaway tool, and to debuff bosses in FBs/TTs. In PvP its uses are pretty limited on robes.

Any veno with a phoenix won't be a fodder. They're THAT overpowered. Getting a phoenix is not like impossible end-game and it's noway near as difficult/expensive as say getting the higher-end gears for a PvP BM.

well MY-EN didn't have Chas Sop Pets a lot of time and venos were doing fine
Veno's main job is debuffing and amp dmg the cata puller (or players which are aoeing, mostly clerics), after doing that u could join the DD parties

I just still say the pheonix/arcane combo isn't a good pvp build. It's basically -snipe the bugger and run away so my poor sneaky lil butt wont get hurt QQ-
Archers are long range phys, all they have to do is take aim, 1-2 shots on the veno then the phoenix poofs.

In TW I dont even find phoenixes that much of a problem, unless I have say 3 or more on me. Physical classes have a pretty good chance against them if they know how to get around it.

oh come on, arcane guys are fragile,i admit it, but u still can get close enough to a barb and debuff it, die, debuff again, that's your job
if u want to survive after debufffing... u'll have to work a bit on your build/armor set
