Powerlevelling

Hi all, probably a n00b question here:

I was trying to level some friends quickly earlier (was ~level 22 at the time while he was ~5), and we decided to try powerlevelling him. However, when he came to my location (Archosaur) we tried killing and he obtained no experience.

So, from that, my question is what is the limit to powerlevelling? Do we have to be within a certain level range? Can he not receive exp from monsters above a certain level range? I tried scouring the forums but I couldn't find anything, so any help in this matter would be very much appreciated.

I don't know all the math involved but as you have discovered already there are severe exp penalties for extreme level differences. You can help him kill quest mobs, but he will receive almost nothing for the actual killing, only the quest reward exp. 1-20 is a very smooth and quick ride anyway, so just let him catch up and then you guys can level together.

I'm pretty sure about 10 levels is the most difference you would want. I see zhen offers for 65-75, so I'm guessing based on that.

Powerleveling simply does not work.

Mmm, I see. He had a level 20 char on another server, and I just wanted to help him re-attain that footing without having to go through the running. That's too bad though.

Thanks for the information ^^ and yes, I've been helping him with quest mobs since.

Desangel - Sanctuary

You could always help your friend kill monsters for his quest, making him get exp twice as fast, since you'll probably 1 hit them and make the quest go by faster.
