can monsters hit you when you in air?

i looked everywhere, nothing seemed to even touch on that topic

when im flying, say, 20 feet above ground, and i do a ranged magic skill on the monster, can he attack me back (assuming its a pure melee monster)? i dont see how it can... i mean im "too far away" from its physical blows.

    no, they can't touch you. your damage will be cut in half and the monster will lose aggression and regenerate its hp fully if you're in the air.
