Grinding advice

So as I go along grinding, I massively prefer to spam skills (mostly use aeolian blade/drakes ray/lvl 1 oceans edge) since it kills faster rather than auto attack.

Currently I have been investing in bronze MP charms (I know gold is a better deal in terms of coin spent for mp given, but not enough coin to get one at this point, so I stick to bronze's). My question is should I stick to charms to fuel my skill spamming needs, or should I convert to these powders or whatever? I've never looked into the items that up your mana/hp regen rates before really. In terms of cost, would it be cheaper to go with charms or these regen rate enhancers as I am out and about spamming skills and grinding?

Ahh. I used to do the same thing, with 711 mp I went through 90k mp points and 100k hp in 6 hours, I used to really spam the exact same 3 skills that you said, but now I've learned its almost as quick to just use aeolian blade or ocean edge as opener, then just **** at it. b:pleased

Trogdorr is kinda right, open with some good skills, then just **** then n if they flee, trow you ranged attack at them. Use this at water/air mobs who use few magic attacks and its a piece of cacke @ ur lvl. Saves you loads of money too.
As a polearm I mostly use Far Strike, then Drake's Ray, en then I make em bleed with Draw Blood. After that just **** a couple of times and voila.

I have used charms, but now, i have stopped relying so heavily on skills. I tend to approach a mob, and for me being a blade user I will hit them with spirit chaser, it is a linear ranged attack, this will bring the mob to me unless it is a ranged attack, then I will run to it and just bash away, use spark eruption if you wanna speed up the process, this gives you 150 of your base damage and only uses a spark instead of mana.

Its what I do and now I am mostly living off Mana pots that are dropped from the mobs that I kill.

It may result in more equipment repair cost but I rationalize that by saying I am gonna have to repair regularly anyway being a melee toon.

Honestly i would say based on your weapon path, hacking is different...I've been using charms as well mostly gold HP charms and mana potions..but if you really want to limit your spendings on charms get your Apothecary skill up and make the Focus Powders or w/e that boost your MP/HP regain for 10 mins..really easy to find the herbs to make them and can easily make plenty for when you grind or quest, however id still invest in some sort of HP charm...the skill spamming though, depending on if you're always in a team with a tank or someone who normally draws aggro or alone, I've seen some BMs actually put mana shards in their armor if they party with a Tank(i dont recommend this, just telling you what ive seen) or if your normally alone or you act as the tank in your team i would say open with Aeolian blade (and lvl it pretty high, it's a BM specialty attack.) and then maybe draw blood or ocean's edge and then ****..I'm dual axes right now and this combo works for me..(mana shards are up to you if you'd like to try them)

Depends entirely on Weapon and damage with and without skills as to which is best for you.

As a sword BM I have higher dps with basic attacks than skills (the numbers below ignore crits)

Level 10 Aeolian blade damage (3k average), Time taken 2.2 seconds,
    DPS 1.36k

Normal Attack (1.5k average), Time taken 0.9 seconds (attack speed 1.11 attacks per second)
    DPS 1.67k

so in the case of a sword BM skill spamming is not only a waste of mana its also lower dps, (in the case of a fist BM I would assume the numbers are even more in favor of basic attacks).

For the slower weapons Axe, and Spear the DPS from Aeolian blade goes up (higher base damage) and the DPS for normal attacks will stay around the same (Damage goes up, attack rate goes down)

EDIT: Note For PVP DPS isnt the biggest indicator of if you should or shouldnt use skills, Spike damage is, so this analysis is purely based on PVE effectiveness
