Air kite skill bug...does it work on u?

i tried tons of times, even manage to do my metal skill at the mid tip of my jump bug but barbs still manage to deal norm atks on me even im floating via skill channel mid air....(when it is supposed that melee atk's shouldn't be able to reach our jump hiking bug)...

is this just some graphic glitch or something? since its not working for me b:surrender
