knockbacks would make it impossible for any melee chars in the game.. best way to keep distance is just to distance shrink away.. :)

If knockbacks worked in pvp, wizards and mostly archers would just get people killed by monsters. You could push people into a boss or just mobs. Would be effing ****.
Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    but hella cool.

Why drag the boss all the way to safe zone push the players to him b:laugh

plus if it worked in PVP then no BM or Barb will be able to raise his hand against a wizard the 30 meter push back will be just sick...
    Is Back once more.

sorry med school needs some time.

ive yet to chug a mana pot though :( but I would cream myself if they made a mana shiled spell, like absorb such and such damage and every damage after that cost 20 mana, last such and such seconds.... that would rule!

It does, on some mobs, just not all.

I've seen them work on mob A and then not work on mob A, indicating that it may be a chance thing?

I refuse to believe that they only work on certain mobs, since I've knockbacked some mobs and it didn't work the next few times I tried.

Anyone else got any input/ideas in regards to this?

Many mobs in FB's have similar animations, perhaps you should read the name closely. Then, some fb mobs tend to move kinda fast, so it could've been one of those moments.

Hm, might need to run some tests on this.

Not to discredit you or anything but where'd you get the KB works on mob A and not mob B thing? I wouldn't mind seeing a list of which mobs can be KB'd and which can't.

Perhaps I could maybe start such an experiment? (though I'd probably die in fb 51 onwards lol)

FB51 has such particular mobs, the dwarf Maguses can be knocked back if I'm correct. The warriors, however, cannot, and they look almost alike. I haven't done the fb in a while, so I'm not entirely sure which type of dwarf it is, but yeah.

Don't think you should spend too much time getting that type of info, other than just learning it on the spot and using it later on. It's kind of hard to memorize the name of mobs, so it's easier to get hands-on experience on it and learn it that way.

20 seconds sound better than the 3 seconds of safety Blink offers if you intend on fighting back.

Not that you can in a fight with an archer, if you blink away they're also out of your range... it'd be nice to have a skill making us able to TANK rather than run. And no, Earth Barrier doesn't count, 1.5*junk is still junk.

Direct contradiction, mages aren't tankers, and I beg to differ, even 100% is a good bonus.

There's a difference between tanking a few hits and suicide. We don't have ANY staying power against a lot of other classes if they aren't idiots.

We do at level 90... that's why if such a tanking skill were added, though it can't be, mages would be a hax class.

but not many would make it if they made it a lv 89 skill, because most wizards seem to quit before level 60, not many have the patience to push that long, but im content with this, almost shat myself when i bugged out near EB lake and my wiz didnt show in my char list for 15 mins >.>

lol, well if there is an explicitly stated skill screaming "USE SKILL TO TANK ALL CLASS FOR A FEW SECONDS - req lvl 89" lots of players starting out will go mage and try **** through the pre 89s.

I agree with Skyannie that if wizards do get a skill to take some abuse, it'll be a broken class. Massive damage AND tankability? eh?

While I admit that shell and shrink are different, giving wizards a shell would be far too imba imo. I mean, yes shrink is not the best and you'd have to run when faced with difficult situations (or not that difficult xD) but if hypothetically you had both...all you do is pop shell, and start casting away and if it gets too dangerous, shrink away. Sounds pretty imba to me there. Or what, shrink into the Archer's fragility distance and pop shell up?

Well hey, an archer can cast shell and stand there, and stun/paralyze when it gets really dangerous. What's the difference? Other than the fact that the wizard is running and the archer would be disabling the other. And then there's Wings of Grace, too...
