Sutra vs. Adv. Spark Eruption

I know there's probably a mantra on which one of these is better, but I'm unsure.

Sutra kills the enemies FASTER, but you use more spells to kill.

Adv. Spark kills them slower, but you use less spells and therefore less mana.

Thoughts? And 10% gain is such a pithy amount of mana, even with 6000 MP that's still not enough to kill a single mob......

For one, you seem to be targetting PvE. In which case there is no need to sutra because you have time. Just Adv. Spark erupt if you feel like seeing big numbers and to make yourself feel better. xD

In PvP/TW/PK or whatnot, you will need to take them down ASAP. Atleast that's how I see it. You won't have time to pull off advanced spark eruption + a hard hitting spell (unless you have the element of surprise). Since sutra is insta-cast, you can quickly pop sutra and a spell and hope they die before they hit you (or run away). Also, you should not be concerned about your mana in PvP. Atleast not to the level you're taking it.

It all depends on what you're facing and what you intend to use it on IMO.

Sutra for me right now is 1000mp added on, mob is dead in 3 spells, maybe 4 which covers that 1000mp and i won't get hit by the mob. So its basically a free kill at 0 cost to your mp and hp. Also when grinding i generally have FOW in my combo, also so i don't get hit by many mobs. The cooldown takes a while so i find it faster to kill when every 3rd mob i throw in a combo with sutra. Basically mob with FOW in combo, mob with sutra instead, mob with FOW in combo without taking a 1 second break. Only time i use spark eruption is when i start on a mini boss

    PvP always sutra

Oh and one other thing, sutra is fantastic if 2 mobs are hitting you either to quickly kill the first one, and then concentrate on the second, or to quickly kill the second after you are done with the first. If you really are in trouble, sutra, heal yourself and then go back to the mobs, been a lifesaver for me a million times
    b:bye

i prefer sutra for pvp, and spark for pvm. spark erruption almost doubles my damage, meaning can kill a mob in half the spells, twice as fast, and with 1000 regened mana.

I only use my sparks for Sutra or BTempest in PvP. Dual sparking is like.. telling the other to run as fast as they can from you. Or just wait and stun you after the animation is done.
Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

PvE: In general Adv Spark > Sutra. I would only use sutra if you're in the middle of a kill and another mob spawns on you, you need to do as much dmg as possible then and Sutra is best for that. Otherwise Adv Spark is more mana efficient than sutra so it wins in PvE.

PvP: In all cases Sutra. To hell with mana efficiency, raw dps is all that matters here.

I don't know any barb who'd die to that at an equal level unless sandstorm critted. And even then it'd be a close call.

Unless you ****ed up your grammar and spelling, and meant everyone but barbs. But then it's still unlikely to happen, considering you're giving your target 3 seconds to respond. I mean honestly, if they decide to pot you're screwed.
