B/c I thought I was saving mana by killing two birds etc., but I'm actually not saving as much as I thought, on top of taking at least Triple (if not more) the damage b/c I have to run right up to them and stand there like a chump, as opposed to me just kiting and not really getting hit.

In addition to this drawback, now having spells that let me regain mana (Sutra, Adv. Spark) make this even more wasteful, as instead of using almost no mana and no health to kill a mob, I use a decent amount of a mana and a LOT of health to kill two mobs.....

Thoughts? What level did you stop dumping SP into this skill at? And what level did you leave your skill at?

Thanks

You're not supposed to use that as an offensive spell. That skill only works for zhens or for clutters of mobs which another class is tanking, or probably AOEing people? lol That skill is normally left at level 3 or so for zhenning, keeping mana consumption at an adequate level. At level 89, if you're planning on zhenning in heaven/hell, whatever, it's raised to level 10, because mobs are unnaturally powerful there.

Yeah, don't use that as an attack. As a wizard you do best when ranged.

Mine is at lvl 3, and I use it for FB 19 mob clusters, taking out low lvl bosses and their minions all at once (Flora, Haggist, and Bloodraged for example), etc. Mainly when helping lower lvls kill stuff for their cultis/quests. I never actually use it on any mobs anywhere near my lvl, as with other spells I can drop them before they touch me. The only reason I raised it to 3 was in preparation for Zhen parties eventually, which as stated by Sky, is the only real practical use for an AOE as a wizard.

I have heard of high level wizards dropping into enemy groups and firing it up during TWs. I've never done it myself, but it does sound like fun. lol

On a related note (and the reason why you don't use Dragon's Breath on ranged mobs), one of the greatest things I've seen was a wizard and a cleric doing the guard quest outside of Secret Passage. He gathered a few of the ossein guards and hit Dragon's Breath. The guards proceeded to run out of range and killed him and his cleric dead. I laughed til my sides hurt with that one! XD
