Search didn't return any useful info on socketing Elemental Soulstones, so I wonder :

I have this Average Amethyst Shard, Water Damage +32

What KIND of damages does this raise if I socket it in a weapon ?
- Hand-to-hand damage, as in ''it will add 32 water damage to my 300 physical punch''
or
- Magical Damage, as in ''it will add 32 damage to any water-based spell''
?
