Cleric Hybrid

Im a Cleric on Heaven's Tear and I had a thought that would maybe be smart or dumb.
Im arcane because i don't want to waste my attributes on strength.
I've been doing my attributes like this.
I got my dextirity to 20 for that 1% and never leveling it again
I keep my vitality and mag equal every lv putting 2-3 in each
Then i keep strength at bare minimum for arcane.
For my physical defense i use rings, necklaces, etc that dont require strength for max physical defense instead of magic.
Im hybriding skills too, its extremely expensive but i cut out curses and stopped healing spells at purify.
I kite using whirlwind constantly on melle and then plume on casters that arent wood.
GOOD or BAD

"BAD"
1st: 20 dex = lol and 2nd equal vit and mag = noob, I would restart my cleric if I were you, since you're still lvl 20.
Look, forget about "support" or "attack" cleric, that's dumb and pick either hyrbid or light armor build to be able to survive.
A cleric till a very late lvl needs... ironheart (and wellspring if you want) maxed when it comes to "support" spells and Plume Shot & Great Cyclone always maxed no matter what for the "attack" part. Then simply keep a good balance on your buffing spells to the point that keep you alive and ignore all other attacking and healing spells till later lvls (45+) - it's that simple..[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Putting DEX is quite a fatal choice. As the above poster said, i will also strongly suggest restarting. As for Vit, Cap it at perharps 40. Everything else to MAG for hybrid. Ironheart is a must. Helps you alot and gets you into squads.0

im deffinatley not restarting but ill do this...
i have 38 vit atm at 40 ill cap it
like i said ill never touch dex again but its not a full mistake because eventually it will be a arcane requirement
everything will be going to magic now
and whoever said to hybrid light or go full light is a noob which is sad cuz ive been playing for like 4 days
IF ANY MOB EVEN TOUCHES U.... U SUCK
kiting is godly and im never ever touched so survivablility isnt a problem AS FAR AS LEVELING territory wars i wouldnt know yet but im asuming archers would be fair fight, wizards would egt pwnt (plume phys ftw) and melle will open my b-hole in pvp if NOT KITED CORRECTLY0 -
Restat your dex ASAP if you don't plan on going light armor. It's NEVER required for any arcane weapons or armor, and 20 mag will give you WAY more damage than 1% crit. At my level 20 mag gives me almost 200 damage, 1% crit would give me about 40...
The best build for leveling is full mag with min strength for gear, and maybe a few points in vit if you have trouble staying alive(which you shouldn't).
The only reason to need vit or light armor is TW and end-game PvE.0 -

Wait what? There are physical defense rings now? Or do you mean you are going to take p.atk rings and +'ing them to get the defense bonus? Using defense belts/necklaces is okay though. Frankly when it comes to leveling I'd prefer to go for damage and get my def by wearing robes that give good +def modifiers. You know what is better than kiting? Killing a mob in 3-4 hits instead of running around for five minutes to kill one.
Archers being fair game? Ya, I think I'll let you go TW (if you ever level up high enough for a guild to consider sending you out) to figure that out.0 -
I disagree with what you say about the light armor it adds the physical defence that you NEED in arcane armor if you know your fighting magic mobs then you can easily switch to arcane armor. Yes if I used arcane only I would do much higher damage but would get killed fast when a mob spawned ontop of me the light armor and ironheart blessing has kept me alive in such cases better than arcane armor ever has you already have the dex so go ahead and switch to light if your going to stick with arcane then definately start over. It does not take 4 days to get to 20 maybe a day at most and it gives you time to perfect your build.0

Punctuation: do you use it?

Does any cleric here know how to kite psy (mele or ranged)?
Cause i see arcane builds just take hits from 3psy mobs and ofc die.
I am arcane also so i can tell you, i dont have any problems with any mobs to +5lv or more.b:dirty0 -

Well, to be honest, I don't kite physical mobs myself - this, however, is because I'm lazy and just stack Ironheart against them.
If it hits a little *too* hard, then yeah, I'll kite. Other than that, naah. Ironheart through it, imo. b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
With a gold mp charm, that would be the case...no charm = kite >.<b:dirty0

lol people only say light clerics are noob because they hear everyone ealse say that. Infact that assumption is wrong. b:chuckle
Training Wars are much more fun as a light cleric, because you don't have to worry so much about your self you can take a few hits and heal yourself fast. You can take sooo much more damage and live lol. As far as solo, it only takes me one more magic attack spell to kill a mob then it did with arcane. b:chuckle
Maybe all try arcane again when im level 90+ when I can see the benefits of stacking allot of Vit ver the whole light build.0 -
The high dex will hurt. Get just enough dex to wear armor- 16-17 at max (str too, just high enough to wear light armor), and then never use it again. Magic always hit, and the evasion isn't good enough for you to avoid all hits.
Phys res you can get from jewelry, and pump that up with your buffs (vanguard/fire-orb-mpresistthingy-icantremembername/spirit/celestial guardian). I have about 550phys /3800 mag res buffed, and my vit's at 40 and it works fine, especially for pvp. I'm lvl 48 and have about 1600 hp, which allows me to tank normal mobs. Max plume and cyclone and you'll kill just about anything normal in 3-4 hits.
Ironheart stacks, so if you're going into something hard, just cast it twice, hit it a couple of times, and ironheart again.
But I'd suggest from here on out you put 100% in magic. You'll start feeling the MP drain soon... charms kick in at 75%, which you'll hit with 1-2 mobs easily because your magic will be lower than normal. I'd suggest MP add-ons and recovery, as much as you can get. Also develop your apoth skill for the mp recovs.
But I don't kite. I have a habit of running into other mobs and getting several going at once, which never turns out well. That, and it takes so long to run away, and people are like "he's kiting and taking hp damage, does he want help, oh wait akjsadf" and then they ks you on the killing hit, etc etc. I'd rather just kill the mob (or aoe swipe a group on the very rare occasion) and move on to the next.0
