Sorry if this has been posted by someone else but i lack finding any good explanations so here i go:

i was killing some mobs today and as u can see i'm lvl 36 i keept getting killed by 34 lvl monsters .. i still use the FB19 wep idk if is good or not b:embarrass but i noticed how slow that thing is... it has good dmg but casting time is very low..

So my main question is what wep should i use in pve/grinding and which in dungeons...

For pve i was about to get a slinghot cause it has nice casting speed but the dmg is low so i was clueless... pls advice me what to use so i wont die and loose my exp anymore. b:puzzled

Typically, Slingshots are best for grinding. Crossbows have slow casting and a huge gap between lowest and highest damage; where as Slingshots have fast casting and consistent dps.

If you're dying from mobs 2 levels lower then you, then it's either your not doing something right or your gear is ****. When I got to lvl 30, I bought the ***3 star gear for 10k each from a lady near the forges.
I'm still using the fb19 crossbow and I have no problems with dying, but that's also of course because I have a charm. Next level I'm getting the 42 legendary slingshot, so yeah I'm gonna be 1337.

But all in all, you really shouldn't be dying from mobs 2 lvls lower than you. Not really sure how else I could help =/

Well, you may want to get the lvl 35 crossbow. It has great damage, but the attack speed is the same as your fb19 crossbow.(and all the other crossbows for that matter) But, the damage is so good that the attack speed doesn't matter too much. At lvl 41 It is still doing me good. I find slingshots useless. Yes, it has a fast attack speed but the damage is too low for it to matter. The lvl 32 bow is good too but the crossbow keeps your minimum damage the same and almost doubles your max damage. So, it seems that the crossbow is the way to go. But that is my opinion. Someone may tell you to wait a couple lvls and get the lvl 38 slingshot.

Slingshots are the best for grinding. Ideally you would want to find a mob that you can autoattack until dead and oddly enough a slingshot has the fastest fire rate and does this the best.

Do not say crossbows have a slow cast time because that is the wrong word. They simply fire slow. Channeling a skill bypasses this "fire rate" thus making a crossbow superior in PvP/TW/PK whatever. As soon as you're in the PvE scene grinding, the slingshot outshines by a mile.

The legendary 42 sling (sinister shooter) is probably the best thing you will ever come across at that level up until mid 50s to late 50s. At the current level, I suggest you get a decent lvl 35 "giant crossbow". This should be swapped out for the legendary 42 sling asap.

Now as for why slings outshine the rest - the auto attack speed of a sling is a lot faster. But this ONLY affects autoattacking. And since I mentioned that ideally you want to do nothing but autoattack, then the sling > xbow. True, the xbow has a higher max damage, but that messes with how you respond to situations. When you grind, you want everything to be so similar and predictable so that you can become more efficient. Basically a crossbow has unpredicatable damage. I've crit 12k before, and then crit 4k shortly after, same weapon, same mob.

The sling has the highest damage per second compared to the xbow and bow and consistent damage is what you're after to gauge what to do in your combo. Typically mine consists of nothing more than a winged shell with many autoattacks following. If you kill faster than the cooldown of winged shell (which you should) then the second target you attack would involve a frost arrow and a knockback along with some normal attacks. After you kill target 2, you go back to the winged shell combo on target 3 and then repeat with the winged shell combo.

I have never considered bows because they are in b/w both extremes. Most bows are outright bad until you come across your first decent bow at level 80 (soulsmasher) or if you're rich enough to DQ up the Penetrator.

Yeah, I wasn't going to bother with a lengthy post because I knew someone will eventually do so... but I kind of got carried away lol.

And for the TT60 xbow, I didn't like it as much but I still keep it with me. I have a decent lv58 sling and TT60 xbow that I carry with me, using them when I see fit.

Yeap, got a 3* with +93 max damage and 6 dex for ~100k (forgot price). Basically same as the leg 42 sling with a slightly slower fire rate but much more damage.

Ah, I was going to get the wind and clouds when I hit 69, then save up for soulsmasher at 80. Guess we have similar preferences :D

I suppose that the "best" grinding weapon is the slingshot. I come from a Lost City standpoint, so I always have to be ready for a PK, that is why I ruled out slingshots early on. On a different note, how much does a Sinister Shooter cost or, what mob/boss drops the mold? Thanks.

I think you can get a mold drop in fb39

As for the cost, I paid 400k for my +2 one, but almost everything I buy is overpriced.

Depends on what server you are on. In Sanctuary, they go for around 600-800k.
