Wizard Pyroshell + Melee?

Hi, can a melee build wizard work well with Pyroshell?
With melee, you get hit often by mobs. With this Pyroshell healing a whopping 1 hp per sec (higher on later levels). Would it make smooth grinding on PVE? I am not talking PVP wise, classes use skills to do massive damage there, a melee wizard can't get into that.

Any thoughts?

Just as much point seeing a venomancers in heavy armor gear and dual maces slapping mobs with their pet b:victory.

I guess I wanted to try out the wizards shield spells like Pyroshell, there is one that also boosts physical defense, using that with heavy melee armor would give a great amount.. I think.

I've seen some heavy wizards, they lose a LOT of dmg for useless numbers where thier Pdef is... lv 68 with 12k Pdef... and a wizard... wtf... and hits like a feather

heavy armor venos on the other hand... they can be a *****... a fox form veno in heavy armor can be a menice for most classes, and with a pet even more so.

as for a heavy melee wizard... you could tank, sure, but no one would want you for anything, you would be a wanna be bm, but i guess if its just for fun, u could do what you want... so good luck, lol

Thing is, Veno's actually get decent HP and physical skills.

This topic is win. Don't be intimidated little melee mage. You shall prove them wrong, just like the FACs! Go out there and get lots of HP then use Emberstorm! I hear that's a really good skill. b:mischievous

I've heared some wizards actually use it for a solo zen (however the hell that works, and is worth it)

But as I said tekyo, whatever floats your boat if its just for fun, just be ready to get laughed at by a lot of people.

EDIT: btw rundora, rofl at your siggy!

Well, a melee mage with auto attack pwnage can work on plain mobs I guess.

A mage would use spells instead of auto attack, have enough stat build to wear magic wand, heavy melee gear, some vit for hit points. I think it wont excell in anything /cry :(

Do you need a huge magic attribute to do a lot of damage or is the bare minimum (+upgraded skills) enough to do damage to monsters for grinding?

Dont many high level wizards complain about being weak? They get 1 shotted in pvp or get 2-3 hit by mobs. Are wizards really ment to be a a weak defense/low hp class?

Sure there is mage armor, for venomancers! Wizards should wear heavy melee gear, who is with me!? :O

I like to preserve ridiculous comments and sayings.b:laugh Especially from people that should know better (Raven is a very high level and the cleric.. well he/she's been told multiple times that clerics do not outdamage mages and they sure as hell are not supposed to.)

Exactly. How do you teach someone who won't even listen to those who've been playing the game since before the international version opened?

You don't. Just sit back and laugh knowing that there are actually people THAT ignorant.

I participated in an fb59 yesterday, with a mage tanking some bosses. We temporarily lost several party members (including me), but thankfully we did not lose our mage tank nor our superlative cleric.

However, she was wearing arcane gear and was tanking ranged, magical damage.

Funny you to say that, the other day i had 2 PWMY veterans trying to convince me that the amount you heal isnt affected by your weapon.

It isn't. Most spells have a +% weapon damage modifier, but heals do not. The weapon DOES affect base m-atk though, thus raising heals.

High lvl wizards can also one shot other robes and light armors I believe. Just depends on who hits who first... I'm not a high lvl and also not a PvPer so don't take my word for it. lol

As far as mobs, it takes more than 2-3 hits to die. Generally though, if you get hit twice by one non-boss/elite mob as a robe wearing wizard, you're doing something wrong. lol More often than not, you don't get touched doing PvE. You'll also find you can tank the magic using bosses most barbs can't, though you'll be quick lunch with a phys atk boss. lol

It's your choice. If it's fun and works for you, go for it! As for me, I'll stick with robes. I started a barb for purposes of a mob chew toy, I have my wizard for pure destructive power. lol

after a this conersation, ive decided to try a MELEE mage for fun and experiment. Ill probably try heavy armor and blademaster weapons. As much as this woont work, it might prove uesful for a mage early game, and then acan be switched to light amor later on.... but highly impossible
