Odd connection problem; Can't figure it out

I log in, and it says I cannot connect to server, and I press okay, but I log in anyway. I'm thinking "Alright. That's weird, but I'll play anyway" I do notice, however, that all motions in character selection screen are in super-speed; they are moving at an increased frame rate. I select my character, which I only have one, and get into the game. I am approached with the previous super-speed problem, and a box tells me I have been disconnected, only I'm still in. If I ignore the box, I can move, but do nothing else, and if I go too far, I flash back to where I started. It continues like so until I click okay in the box and I'm brought back to the log-in screen.

This is odd, no?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is not my first time logging in, I have done so in the past without problems. But it is the second time I've had a problem with the game; the last one I fixed by re-installing.

I got in and everything is back to normal now. But in case this problem crops up again, or someone else encounters it, perhaps it would help to give some suggestions as to what may have occurred.

Btw, I am the same person as xenosukii. xD Just as my toon now. lol

Do you have a multicore processor? If so, see this thread.

Are you connecting to the internet over wireless? If so, consider moving to wired, or at least clear out any sources of 2.4 ghz interference between you and the router, such as cordless phones or microwaves.
