*updated* February Calendar Creation Contest Design Winners and runner ups!

First off, we'd like to send a BIG thanks to the hundreds of users who have taken the time to demonstrate their creative talents by participating in our first ever Calendar Creation Contest for the month of February!

The judging process was quite the task and with a range of opinions and perspectives from staff across all levels of the company, and ultimately resulted in what we feel are the 3 standouts amongst the hundreds of submissions.

The 3 prize winners all had some similarities - They followed the rules with proper: file format, file size maximums, incorporated the calendar theme of February (valentines, love, etc.) and clearly demonstrated creativity alongside effort.

Wha-wha-what? Did you say 4 prize winners? Sure did. As a bit of a surprise, we’ve decided to award a prize to a 4th design. While our original intent was to award prizes to the top 3 designs, upon further reflection we feel that this 4th design deserves to be recognized along with the previously chosen top 3.

    Congrats to all! The hand drawn artwork is Fabulous, and the other winner's is very pretty and creative, but I'm shocked that it was picked do to the fact that it says I love weed! & I love getting high! In the chat dialog box in the bottom corner. It's kind of inappropriate to use as a desktop for those of us with kids, and for the kids that actually play the game, but other than that, I like it.

    Um, so you basically have to hand draw stuff to have a chance...cuz the only non-hand drawn one that won is just spectacular. The other two are kinda meh cept they're drawn.

    Yeah. i kinda feel the same way. No offense to the other 2 but the only one i really like is the non hand drawn one

    Wow! I thought that said cake, ok that's even worse. I guess the GM's didn't see it, or thought it was ok to have on there.

    I feel even if it is cake that the I love Weed and I love getting high should have taken it out of the running due to the rules stating "all things deemed as objectionable will be rejected" I don't understand why even put it in there, it's otherwise great work.

    Your calendar is Fantastic!!! Good luck in the next contest!

    yup, the love weed & love getting high reference is totally inappropriate. they should pick someone else from the honorable mentions for the top 3, and really be more careful reviewing the entries next time. and i agree with Aesthor, imo the hand drawn winners are pretty mediocre...

    Hiya Peeps!

    We do apologize for letting 'objectionable' portions of Semyezza's screenshot text slip through the cracks. Over a dozen staffers spent a long time glancing at many images to select the winners but none of us managed to catch that bit b:angry

    In any case, based on the overall scale and scope of this particular design, we feel that it was not Semyezza's intention to offend so we are willing to honor our original announcement of this particular design being a winner and have blurred out the objectionable portions of the screenshot element.

    In any case, please stay tuned as we launch an 'official' events page later tonight revealing additional designs that were just a hair away from winning it all!

    wow congrats to the winners. I had very little time to even complete one. I didn't get as creative as I would have. I told my self If I don't win. I still win Because hey I now have my own personal wallpaper calendar for my desktop. I most defendant will try again for march. since i b:dirty green.

    I'm so sorry, it really wasn't my intention at all. If the GMs require it, I'll go into Photoshop right this instance and fix it. It's easy, will take less than five minutes and no futher harm will be done.

    P.S. It does say "Cake". I have a screenshot to prove. =]

    that is certainly an option we will try at some point - remember, this is a long chain of contests (a full calendar year!) so we'll be mixing up variations of it throughout the year.
