Can you increase the chance of making hi-quality item?

I need to confirm something.
Is there a way to increase chance of making 2-star (3-star if extremely lucky) items?

From my observations it seems like if I make 3 tries in row rather than separately, it quite positively turns out at least one 2-star item (2 if lucky).

What are your observations?

If I make one item and its not blue, I would try some other time.

I have not noticed any significant difference between making items one by one and making them in chains, except that I have to re-select my item when I make them one-by-one, and that might let me mistakenly choose an item I did not want in one of my later tries.

Well, I got lucky 2* or 3* from Duke Blacke. Although some times 1 try successed or may 2-3 try. Here is what you should get from Duke Blacke :

For 2* (blacksmith/tailor/craftman) : Duke will say something like this : BS or Tailor or Craftman XX in North / South / West Archo / Dreamweaver is in good mood. If you make thing there, you'll get good deal.

For 3* (Bs/Tl/Cr) : Duke will something like this : Last night there is a party and Bs/Tl/Cr XX in North / South / West Archo / Dreamweaver got tipsy. You'll get good stuff if you transaction/make something there.

Well, above are not the exact words, but more or less the same. You'll get the point I am talking about.

And to increase luck, you need to let Duke tell you about something like this : Gem Merchant XX is in luck. You'll get some luck from him/her is you transaction with him/her.

Sometimes, Duke also mention about today's element whether water, metal, fire, wood, earth. If you grind on the element mobs, you'll get good drops.

And if you are patient enough to talk to Duke, he'll give you some money or some exp by asking you to talk to some1 at arch.

    Hope this help. Good luckb:victory

Who is this Duke Blacke guy? He sounds pretty useful.
Anyway, does the chance of making a 2 or 3 star item increase if you are lower level than the req of that item and/or the chance going lower if you are higher level?
Because 2 star weaps arent that uncommon for me if i make weapons for my level (2/3 or 1/3 chance for me) but i hear people saying that their lvl4 blacksmith quest is really hard because they cant make 2star sawtooth blades. (And generally they are level 50, sawtooth blades are lvl 42 i think)

Well, for Bs/Tl/Cr lvl 4, you must be at least lvl 50 than you can start to do the lvl 4 crafting quests which are to craft 2* items as requested. Well, actually it's not so hard if you have talked to Duke about who will give 2* as I've explained before. Btw, Duke Blacke is usually walking around Archo.
I've just crafted 2* Tailor quest items. All 3 items successful in 1 try. And then, ofcourse I've sold them. Lol...

As for the quest items(weapon, armor, jewelry), there are all lvl 3 craft skill required. So, if you think you have bunch of lucks, you can try to make it before lvl 50. I think the lvl of your char and the lvl of your crafting skill don't have any connection with your chance. Only, that for lvl 5 craft skill, you need to be lvl 50.

    Hope this explain you. b:victory

Making more items in one sitting seems to affect the rate. By making 5 Kilt(s) of the Sacred Tortoise at once (not one at a time, i clicked maximum and happened to have the mats for 5) I ended up getting 2 1*, 2 2*, and 1 3*. Prior to this I have never made a 3* and my rate on 2* was about 20%.

Might be worth looking into more.

I dont no for here but in other MMORPG games u get better items if you craft them in place with less lag.
If that's tru then Arch is WORST place to make something b:chuckle

Duke eh? Have to check that out.

I spent some years playing EQ and there were entire sections of crafting boards devoted to player superstition about who and what and where would help you fail less or get better results or whatever, stand at the north side of the forge, if you fail zone out and back in before trying again, have the recipe book in your inventory/open on your interface while making the combine...

This sounds really familiar. As an oldgamer I'd warn against undue amounts of voodoo magical thinking about crafting. It's fun and passes the time, but keep it in perspective. The game is rolling dice and comparing it to a table. If what some npc says points to "hot spots" then that should be provable by experimentation.

Duke Blacke is almost the equivalent of using hacks in this game...

He manufacture hax for you (give you better rates.. sometimes even hax rates)
He gives you free money (10k coins sometimes)
He drop hax for you (better drops.. but his **** is too crappy only like 25% improve drop)
He will social hax for you (Actually if you follow his advice, you can actually make friends)
He will random hax for you (Well random gribbish most of the time to **** just to annoy you)
He will refine hax for you (Godly refine rates if you follow his instructions)

    Last but not least..

He has speed ****... Seriously, how da hell does he tele around Arch so fast?

I heard that if you craft on a full-moon night, while having 297.3 rough aquamarine split equally in the 3rd, 4th and 9th slot of your inventory, you will get a increased percent to craft a 3* items. Yeah yeah, I tried it once and it WORKED. ZOMGGGG b:laugh
