Point distribution

I am currently a level 47 Wizard. I recently acquired a reset note to reset my attributes.
Current base attributes are as follows, (already reset):
VIT - 10 (+2 added from attribute on item to make 12)
STR - 46
MAG - 178 (+2 added from attribute on item to make 180)
DEX - 17
It would be nice to here some discussion on whether you believe this is a reasonably good distribution of points.
I am asking this because up till now I have survived fairly well, but recently had a nasty experience in the "Gate of Delirium" I died 7 times. I had 6 in my squad. An awesome team;
(the following levels of the team members is estimated from memory):
Wizard: L46 (me)
2 necros: one L70 (tank) and one L39
1 Cleric: L39
2 Blade-Masters: one L43+ and one L41
I don't like to stand back and let others do the fighting for me. I let the tank make the 1st hit then I attack ferociously. This strategy is obviously in dire need of a good re-thinking.
Any input is greatly appreciated,

IF this is your strategy and what you want - go with the Light Armor Wizard spec.
This will give you 2 key items you need: Decent Evasion from attacks (keeping you alive alot longer during aggro) and more importantly, plenty of more DEX (since you need more dex and str to use LA) so you get plenty more criticals.
The only negative is your loss of the mana pool and a slight loss in mana regen, but there are many ways to get mana.
SO - take some points from MAG and put it into DEX and work that. See the sticky above for more info on this.
That's what I plan on doing when i get a few more lvls b:victory

I think I will take your advice. You're right, I do need more dex. I initially had around 40 dex and 35 vit and seemed to do alright.
Thanks JahlynnIf you take an inch, give em' back a mile0 -
Well, I've come to a conclusion Jahlynn.
I will keep my current 170+ mag and contribute all attribute points for the next 3 levels to Dex. This should give me a good feel for the distance I should keep from enemies; at least for a few levels. Then perhaps get some molds so I can enhance my defense.
I need to find a way to make cash to get soul gems. I'm just getting into selling stuff at a consignment shop.
