It doesn't matter how old the game is, what platform as long as you loved.

Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Shadow Hearts : Covenant or Tales of Phantasia. It's pretty hard to pick just one.

I got some on every platform, I think.

The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario - Super Nintendo.
Mario Party (all parts) - Nintendo 64.
    Harvest Moon - Gamecube.
Some sort of detective game my aunt bought - Wii.
Neverwinter Nights and Vampire: the Masquerade, Bloodlines - PC.
    Pokemon Diamond - Nintendo DS.
Legend of Mana and Legend of the Dragoon - Playstation (1).

My favourite platforms ever are the Nintendo 64 and the Gamecube.

Legend of Mana (PSX). Horribly, horribly broken game, and all the more entertaining because it never even bothered to limit game systems in the false hope of avoiding overpowered player characters. Most incredibly complex design systems I've seen in a modern game aimed at the masses. Add in beautiful art, memorable music, and a Square plot, and it's well worth tracking down.

Armored Core III (PS2). Very few games manage to get a feeling of speed, acceleration, and agility. Even fewer manage to still be playable and entertaining over the long term (Mirror's Edge, for example, fails the last point). Incredible gameplay, amazing complexity, and remarkably fine-tuned balance. Pity the nukes don't act like the ones from AC:MoA.

Vampire : The Masquerade : Bloodlines : PC : Don't Forget the Patch. While I've never been that impressed with V:tM as a tabletop, the game really manages to achieve some amazing success in a genre with very few worthwhile competitors.

No More Heroes (Wii), Okami (PS2/Wii), God Hand (PS2) and Mirror's Edge (XBOX360/PS3/PC) earn honorable mention for unique styles, even if the game's mechanics themselves couldn't quite match up.

Continuum (tabletop). Further information not available here.

On second thought - Ive been a gamer for so long so i have a nice list.. genre based...

    RPG:
FF - 1. VIII (cuz it was my first, and I liked the Junction system, the love story, the chars...), 2. VI (Kefka rules!), 3. IX (music and european atmosphere), then X (my first PS2 game, graphics - WOW), then VII(not really digged the main chars and the "emo spoiled brat fights another emo spoiled brat" story - but the gameplay was good enough.)
NWN - from the board to your PC, you gotta love D&D (and the bonus of all those wicked player build modules that I've played)
    Pokemon blue - gameboy.

    RTS:
Settlers 2, Red Alert (for Mother Russia!), Age of empires RoR, Blitzkrieg(always loved tanks), Starcraft (simply the best), Warcraft (the buttugly original - cuz it started the franchise)

    TBS:
Hearts of Iron 2 (hard as hell, but you can change WW2 history and invade US east coast with Albania if you wish to ;)), Knights of Honour (you can play as Croatia, enough said)

    FPS:
Doom I, II, III (creepy stuff), Duke Nukem 3D (damn, I'm looking good), Quake I (the first 3D FPS, and with a NIN soundtrack =) ), Quake 2 Chaos (my first LAN expirience - and the proximity "have a nice day" mines), Half-Life (revolutionary), Operation: Flashpoint (as close to the real army you can get without enrolling), CS, Call of Duty 1 & 2 (cuz its the best for a WW2 freak like me).
honorable mention: Serious Sam (humor) and Red Faction (destroing)

    Arcade:
Commander Keen, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, Wario, Spyro the dragon, Crash bandicoot...Prince of persia (yes, I played the original one on my 486)

    Action and others:
Devil may Cry (1 and 3, 2 sucks), God of War, Sims 2, Pinball (an old, DOS/Norton Commander one, not the windows one), SimCity 2000, Roller Coaster Tycoon, THPS, Bishibashi special, Tekken and Street fighter series, and afcourse, the first videogame I've ever played - the 1986 IBM PC version of Tetris.

I know its pretty retro, but I'm one of those that consider that modern day games lack originality and are too much inclined to graphic rather than gameplay (except nintendo games and a rare surprise like Okami)...

Sim City 3000 (inc. Unlimited/UK edition) and especially Sim City 4 pwnz too. Sim City Societies was way too different and got boring fast.

PWI is the best MMORPG I've played yet. b:victory

Age of Empires II (inc. conquerer's expansion) - Best classic single and multiplayer RTS yet. III got boring really fast.

Final Fantasy 7 - best story and characters. True classic.

Driver and especially Driver 2 - Best driving game.

Baldur's Gate 2 exploded my mind with awesomeness. Have to be my favourite game overall.

Although recently I played Left 4 Dead, and doing the campaign mode with a group of friends is utterly awesome. A ridiculous amount of fun there.

Neverwinter Nights is also good for its user created content. I still play it a fair bit.
    Everyone here is ridiculously oversensitive.

    Old? You want old?

Besides Pong..how about Kingdom of Kroz? MS-DOS game circa 1987.b:laugh

Heck I'm so old I played pinball Space Invaders around 1978 enthusiastically at the local bar for six months for bets.

Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein and Blake Stone were time wasters to be sure, had Duke Nukem 3D later and didn't like it.

Fragile Alliance kept me up at nights for weeks, until I figured out how to beat it. b:sad

D2 took my time for a while, then work interferred for a looong time.

KAL for a bit, then GW and now PWI.

Having a high post count doesn't make you anything in the game.
