Importance of Parties / PvE Class Selection

My only experience beyond level 1-10 is as a venomancer, which gave me the ability to solo very easily but kept me from ever exploring the possibility of partying. For other jobs - such as blademaster, archer, or wizard - is partying an important thing for completing quests (the main way of gaining exp)?

Though venomancer is fun enough, it just doesnt suit me anymore. The class discussions on the forums seem to focus mainly on PvP, which makes them less useful to someone like me who only plays PvE. In terms of just flying around, exploring, and doing various quests, I know that nothing can match venomancer, but do any other jobs come close?

So I take it you want to party?

Any class CAN solo, just not all are good at it. I'm a support cleric, and I can solo when needed, it's just slow. Lets just say support clerics work better in parties.

Actually, IMO every class works better in parties then solo. It's just some classes do better in solo.

I can't really tell you about other classes, but for a cleric, partying is very important.

as far as PvE, Venos seem to be the best soloist class for it.
Thing is, they are the worst for groups, for their pets do not receive an equal portion of xp (or any), so it's best to avoid grouping if you want your pet(s) to not fall behind you in levels.

Veno forums mainly talking of pvp? Unless it's fox form, there's not much to talk about other than how often they are dirt-napping. Pretty much the worst pvp class in the game, countered by being the best solo PvE class.

As said before, any class can solo, heiros make it possible. If you're looking for groups though, Support clerics, and tank barbarians are great main-stays, but hard to level up to 60+ when they are in demand full time. On the other hand, the other classes outnumber those 2 greatly because of this same reason, thus the need.

Veno is a great class for PvE and to learn the game and the world, might want to stick with it for a while. Unless you really desire a group full time, then yeah, wrong class.

My saying that the forums talk mostly of PvP was in reference to OTHER classes' forums, not veno's. I searched around for information before making my own topic, you see.

I'm not specifically looking for parties. Heiros are something i would very much like to avoid. Cleric is too extremely party-based, I don't have long to spend on the game at once, and so would never be on long enough to actually find a party, much less get anything done.

I suppose the gist of what everyone is saying is that, given the need, any class can solo. Clerics are the worst, venos are the best, and everyone else is in-between. I'm looking for one of those in-between classes. Is it safe to say that they all solo about as well as each other?
