    Agreed. awesome little tool!!!

How to use the Auto-Path feature:

Goto the main map (large scale map, not the detailed map) hold down the alt key and click the area you want to fly in.

A Popup appears named Auto-Pathing. you choose your altitude with the slide bar and click confirm. You have a check box choice to also exit flying mode (if you want to) when you reach your destination (i.e. you land). Click Confirm and exit the map. your already on your way!

The only negative I see with it is that as soon as you choose your destination you are already moving to it before you click confirm to set your destination. This might be a bug in the Auto-Path feature.

ty for telling how to do it this is a nice feature

Anyone else feel that the title "Auto-Pathing" is a bit of an exaggeration.

Though I appreciate the option, I see little use for this outside of flying. That means only 30+ are going to be able to enjoy it. Not a horrible thing just a little disappointing given the title. I don't know what a good title would be, maybe something like "Destination Marker"

If in the future they enable the ability to run along any existing paths, roads and walkways or as others have mentioned, setting multiple waypoints, then it would seems like a more fitting name and would become . . .

    TRUELY AWESOME!!!
    Until then, it's aaight.

So... let's see... the title of the thread is 'Auto-Pathing'... because... when you use it, a box comes up that's called: Auto-Pathing.

Oh wait, that makes perfect sense! The OP must have known what he was on about.

Not the Title of the thread, the title (sorry, "name") of the new feature.

It always amazes me how quickly people in forums jump to sarcasm.

Point taken, but what's wrong with a little sarcasm?

Would be nice if it gave you an ETA to reach the destination, since the whole point of it is to go afk during travel.

Also an audio clip that says, "This is your captain speaking. We've begun our descent and will be landing in approximately 2 minutes. Please make sure all seat backs and tray tables are in the full upright and locked position." b:laugh

Sarcasm in person is one thing but sarcasm in a forum is bait for a flame fest.

autowalk/fly features are always nice. just keep in mind that there are aggro mobs on the way.. so better do not go for a coffee break while your char is on a longer trip xD

You could always fly up to reach the highter possible spot, i've done that and the land is not even visible except a few mauntain tops (on full settings), I don't think there are any mobs up there, it seemed pretty cool, the moon and all b:laugh

We're glad to see that so many people are enjoying the Auto Pathing System. There are plans for many more features and systems in 2009, and we'll be releasing more and more information as it becomes available. :)

Althought you say that, i find it a bit shady (cant think on a proper description) for using a one-week old feature on the "today's patch news" page.
Yea, the feature is great, nobody can deny that, but it wasnt implemented yesterday, was added along with many other things one week ago.

PS: Fix the item descriptions, old items had more useful info.

No, it is on THIS week's patch news.

not quite. We didn't release patch notes this week since we did not release a new patch.

Rather, we created an announcement to provide a basic guide on the functionality of the auto-patch feature:

    http://pwi.perfectworld.com/news/newsubpage/new-auto-pathing-feature-1171

patch notes can always be found here:

    http://pwi.perfectworld.com/news/patch

and are usually updated at the completion of server maintenance.

i know its alt click on the world map.
But is there a way to get it to not automaticly auto path when i click on the mini map in the upper right side of the screen?
I seem to notice my miss clicking more now that every time i do it, the auto path thing jumps up and i run into a group of mobs or something else not fun.

Oh, and yes I didn't mean to sound ungrateful or anything like that :O

I completely and absolutely love the auto-path; I've been using it ever since I discovered it. Quite a nice feature that I had wished for about a year ago xD (In another PW of course)

I already got my own version of auto pathing. Fly up to a high altitude, click on the sky in the direction I want to go and the trip begins. When I arrive, I drop back to the ground and do whatever I needed to do. Depending on where I'm going, I'll use the teleport masters of specific towns to speed up travelling time.

I usually like to fly low (except when monsters names turn orange), and I like auto-path, but sometimes wish I could climb steeper or something.

And I really, really wish that I could use ALT with movement keys, so I could maneuver without trashing my location assistant coordinate entry thing. And, also that transferring coordinates from find quest to my location assistant were not so problematic.

How do you know you won't overshoot it? And why bother doing that when there IS an auto path feature 10x better?
