Gathering question

Alright I am a new player to PW and so far I do like the game. Now wether this belongs here or not I'll post it because it involves gathering material.

I was heading to my main city when i found a tree stump to my knowledge no one was around I even stoped to gather a silvia root after i killed some of near by mobs so i wasnt distracted. After gathering the log I accused of stealing a log from another player that was supposibly flying over head out of camera shot?

I ended up giving the player the log I supposibly stole?? And even a few more out of good faith, but I feel as if i stole nothing. Im hoping someone could enligten me on this matter was I cheated or did i steal something from a player not even seen on my screen?

    You didn't steal anything. Only one person can farm a material at one time, so if you got there first, it's yours.

    Players tend to be possessive of materials in game. They will PK, accuse, insult, etc. over them. You probably met one of the possessive players.

    If you get there first, it's yours. Unless of course, someone clears out the area, and then a person take the material. Then I could see an accusation working.
