can't edit my posts

i just started posting here and noticed when i wanted to correct a typo or add something that i cannot edit my post i keep getting the following error message:
No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

and when i click the link to mail the admin i get following:
Sorry. The email function has been disabled by the administrator.

i'm using vist and google chrome. so i hope you can help me.

    I have found a technique for working around this problem.

    First, before I edit my post, bring up a fresh copy of that page and then I click on my posts' number (this post will be #2). This opens a new window which contains nothing but my post.

    Then I edit my post in that window, and I do not do anything else in any other windows until I save my changes.

    I am not sure if everyone needs to do this, nor do I know if this approach would work for everyone. (This issue might depend on which browser you use -- I also use Chrome.)

    Firefox doesn't seem to have this issue, nor Opera. Chrome seems to do it unreliably; sometimes you'll even get that error and still change the post. Flueri's workaround seems to work, as does using another web browser during edits.

    Haven't checked the Chrome2 beta yet.
