I think I get it. Atk, run, atk, repeat. right? atk enough so it comes after you, run enough so it doesn't dmg you?

why is it called kiting? where the heck did this term come from?

And while I'm asking questions what the heck is QQ? I've seen it lots, seen it's meaning asked more than once, never seen an answer.

Thank you in advance.

QQ means complaining. The characters look like crying eyes, like T_T or ;_;, but QQ is used more offensively.
You're right about kiting. Be sure to use knockback/slowing skills to do it, helps a lot.
As for the origin of the term kiting, check here.

Killing 4 monsters at once as you kite says the wiki? Child's play.b:laugh

In another game I was able to take 60+ monsters at once, the monsters could be any level I wanted, no matter how much higher they were than me, and kill them all at once without ever getting hit.

Kiting is probably the most important skill you need to master in Archery, but also very hard to achieve without stunning/slowing the enemy.

It looks a bit silly (plus you take a lot of damage) when the enemy is on top of you and your still shooting at it with a bow and arrow.b:chuckle

Your +15% movement speed skill can help you kite.

Damage over time skills seem nice for kiting, since kiting takes so long.

Plume shell and jumping over your enemy can help you, if you do not move fast enough, and you get into melee range.

Sometimes kiting to weaken an opponent, and then fighting normally works best.
